Lochmere Golf Club
About
Located near the banks of Swift Creek, Lochmere Golf Club has plenty of water incorporated into the layout, coming into play on nearly every hole. The golf course stretches across a lush, gently rolling landscape sprinkled with mature trees and ponds. The terrain showcases the best in Triangle golf. At just over 6,600 yards it is not particularly long, but it provides plenty of challenges. It is a tight course that will test your accuracy with narrow fairways lined with trees. The small greens that are heavily protected by well placed bunkers demand thoughtful strategy and pinpoint control. The golf course offers a fair challenge but it is still accessible for beginners, especially from the forward tees. Lochmere G.C. is a favorite among Cary locals, both for its enjoyable design and its affordable rates.

Most Improved
Hadn’t played Lochmere in 5 years - what a difference! Greens were redone 4 years ago and they are great! The course overall was in very good shape. Pace of play was a little slow (about 5 hours) but this course gets so much play that’s not surprising. Overall a great experience for the money.
Professional greens
If you want to know what its like to putt on the greens the pros do every week, this is your course. All 18 were extremely consistent for speed and condition. The rest of the course was very well maintained.
Hopefully they respect reviews
Great course. Would love to see more visible yardage markers . It would be nice if driving range was open before noon as well. We liked the multiple t box choices. Pace of play was slow however, we would play again and again and again.
Great course
This is my favorite course to play., Tee boxes looked great, fairways were green, greens looked good and were fast. Great day of golf.
Great conditions and pace of play
One of the best rounds of golf this year. Pace of play was outstanding. Very nice layout and greens were rolling great. Played in just under 4 hours with one other golfer in my group. I will definitely play here again.
Club Corp Daily
It’s aiiiight. Nothing special and mix of skills on the course so so expect slow play. One of the only daily fee full courses in area so your choices are limited.
Good Course
The course layout was great. Challenging par 5’s and sneaky par 3’s. The conditions were on the average side due to recent weather but all-in-all a good time.
Very good condition
Tee boxes and fairways are lush and the greens are rolling well. A few wet spots here and there. The course is in much better shape than last year.
The pace was great on a Friday morning . Our foursome finished in four hours.
Great conditions
Staff is awesome..conditions excellent.greens bunkers tee boxes fairways all excellent.. go play there
Slow
Great course for the money, but they seriously need a Marshall. The pace of play is the slowest of any course in the area. You will be waiting 5 to 7 minutes for everyshot.
Rained out, but good 8 holes
A friend and I were paired with two other golfers who were better players. Thankfully they were patient. Course was crowded, but good pace of play. Well maintained. Greens recently sanded so a bit unpredictable.
There was a heavy thunderstorm that rained out our round. Unknown if the course would do a rain check for the nine we didn't play - it was raining so hard we went right to the car.
Course in great condition
Lochmere is notorious for wet conditions, however it has been dry for the past week and is in amazing condition. Greens have just been airated but still roll true. Fairways in amazing shape and tee-boxes are just as nice. Only complaint is that the water coolers were out of water and we did not see a drink cart the entire time. If you plan on buying drinks do so before you tee off and get some more at the turn. The ranger was friendly. I would give them 5 stars if there was a drink cart. In this area lochmere is currently the best bang for your buck.
Great shape
Usually the course is wet and soaked and fought to get a five hit round in. Course has been well kept and no water today. Pace of play needs work but course is on excellent condition.
Pro shop- John
Before I was about to play today I called the pro shop and John picked up. The guy gave me a terrible attitude, probably should be fired immediately. John definitely lost the course about 50 bucks today. Have played lochmere before and it was great until I spoke to John. Way to go John!
Thanks for the warning, I cannot stand rude guys in the pro shop... biggest pet peeve of mine when I golf. I will definitely take my business elsewhere.
