About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

Layout and quality
Love the layout of the course and always have, all the holes offer different challenges that are fun to figure out. The course has great greens that run fast but true and the fairways are always quality, same for the bunkers. Love coming to play here every time
Will gladly play there again
Great course. Looked good in pictures but way better in person. Did not get to experience the range as it was closed for the day.
One of Charlotte metro’s best
Course condition is 5 star all around , especially in August . It’s also a walkable course

It was a good layout it wasn’t too busy on a Monday night.
Excellent Course, Bad Pace of Play
Can’t say enough nice things about how well the course is kept and the overall condition. Even for being 95 degrees outside, it’s worth playing at Rocky River over any other municipal course. The only downside for me was the pace of play. It took just about 5 hours to play. We waited nearly 5-10 mins per shot. When we finished at 12 and there was no one on 16 or 17 but we still were waiting to tee off on 13. Assuming it was one group causing the delay, which could easily be handled. Aside from being hard to keep momentum and getting annoyed at waiting, it was a great day on the course.

Beautiful course , nice driving range and practice putting area. Course was in great condition greens looked great.
Excellent Course
I’d recommend this course to anyone who plays golf its callenging and fun greens roll true and are fast. I definitely will play again when I’m in the area.
Beautiful course ⛳️
Rocky River Golf Course was in excellent shape. The greens had been done 2 weeks earlier but were filling in nicely. The course was very playable with accessible greens and pin placements. The ball sat up on the fairways like it was on a tee. The course had great views with Charlotte Motor Speedway visible from a few holes and the staff were friendly and professional. I highly recommend this beautiful/ affordable public golf course:
Water, water, water, I was looking for the river, all I seen was rocks!
80 dollars to play golf and no water in the coolers ? Temp mid 90’s, absurd. I opened two of them to get ice, just to survive. The two, I opened had grass and debri in them? No lock on the doors? Totally unacceptable for 80 bucks. You need to lock your coolers, I personally witnessed a lower species of the human race, take his cheezy, nasty, sweaty towel and submerge it in a drinking water cooler on a golf course one time. A cold drink of water has never been the same. Wasn’t here, just saying it’s unsanitary and dangerous. I asked a young lady at the turn if they could fill the coolers. She told me they would take care of it. I guess she meant the following day for some other lucky customers right? . Some Kid passed us and hour later and was picking the coolers up, not refilling them. Just rocks, no river at this course, and no water in the coolers. Insulting, respect and take care of your customers. Remember, no personal coolers on the course…
Friendly people at the club. I teamed up with 3 others and they were great to play with.Conditions were good.
