About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

Great course but very short
Rocky River was in great shape for a public course. I was able to use 3 wood on nearly every tee leaving myself less than 150 yards approach so it's quite short. Layout is fairly easy as the fairways are pretty wide open and only have the holes present danger upon approach. I would happily play this course again for the value.
Best greens in Charlotte
Get the ball in the fairway and you’ll be just fine. Don’t try to be a hero where it doesn’t make sense. Drink lots of booze, vibe out with your homies!

Great Course
This was my first time playing this course. I was a little leery about it due to the green fees, but by the time I made it to hole #10, I was a fan of the course. Played a great round and will definitely be back to play it again. I recommend this course as a regular trak to play.
Excellent Condition - Great Course
I've played Rocky River roughly 10 times and this was the best condition I've seen it in overall tee to green. The greens were in excellent condition. They rolled true and were pretty fast. Course layout is really nice. I'll definitely be back to play soon.
Course great - pro shop staff push back on Senior Rates
Course continues to be in good shape. Pro Shop personnel have differing reason for being unable to process a Senior Rate. Either they can't do it, or they will refund full or partial amount, can't seem to get their reasons the same page. Embarrassing that I have to repeatedly ask and then demand a Senior rate at the age of 70, but guess that's coz they don't really want seniors playing their course???
Payments
I ve played this course at least once a month and our group has always paid at the desk. My last tee time request on May 18 required that I pay by credit card for my group. Being seniors does not guarantee all are going to play putting the onus on me to reconcile after the fact. Unless, we have other options, we will not play Rocky River.
Staff was horrible
Was followed constantly by staff and ran out of clubhouse during turnaround for taking too long...I was ordering a hot dog and a drink....really? Questionable if I'll come back
