About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

Very nice course - recommend
Course was in good shape for beginning of May, with true greens. Some tee boxes were in tough shape - as most are in NC and SC at this time of year. Good lies in fairway and rough was not too penal. Nice change of pace from open holes on the front to very wooded on the back. Some spectacular holes on the back. Pace of play was just over 4 hours on a crowded course. Cool to hear the race cars on the Charlotte Motor Speedway - don't get that on any other course I've played on.

Nice place, certainly challenging. Greens are in good condition and the fairways are almost fully back from the winter hibernation.

Excellent condition and greens are beautiful
My only set back is I wish they would improve their driving range… seems like they are always on the mats!!
They need to invest in sodding the range with good grass
But …. The course is excellent and recommend anyone to play it
Great way to start the week
Enjoyed getting out and playing with some out of state friends.
Pleasantly surprised
As it was listed as a municipal course i wasnt expecting much. The greens were fantastic-they were fast and rolled true despite the rest of the course being soggy from the recent rains. Some holes layouts were very basic but a few had some character. As other reviewers mentioned, the gps on the carts was a pain. The carts would automatically slow down near intersections and hills, if you drove off the cart path slightly the cart would slow to a crawl with no warning snd wouldnt speed up until it was on the cart path again (due to wetness cart path only rule was in effect) the screens would also display screens for food ordering and other messages that constantly required touching to exit out of-most times it would require several touches so to get hole overview was painful. We gave up trying to use the electronic scoring also for the same reason.
Everyone was super friendly. One of the people working near the bag drop went out of his way to help us find a club which one of us left behind on the course. This was much appreciated.

Working on course as we played. Moving around while I was on the tee box. They should offer a discount when they are performing grounds maintenance.
