About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

Its winter alot of rain #4 was closed do to high level of water that destroyed the green. I'm sure in the spring the course will play better. Cool fairways to play but it was muddy. Just playing golf still fun to play. Cool views the drag racing track you see John force stadium.
Rocky River New Years Day 2020
The course was in Excellent condition from tee to green. I always say Rocky River is one of the best public courses in Charlotte by far. Front 9 plays more open. The back 9 is more challenging but you should be warmed up to shoot well. The course has mix of dog legs and about 5 water holes. My favorite par 3’s are at #5 and #15 over water, which are short but challenging. Bring your A game and hitem well at Rocky River!
SLOW
Midday 12:30 to be exact! A threesome in my group...behind a group of four;BUT two individuals were walking in that foursome! Longest round of my life ! No Marshall's observing pace of play! I have had high stroke rounds that made me want to QUIT the game of golf; but midday behind a walking two-some the worst! It will be a LOOOOOOOOOONG time before I can forgive Rocky River Golf Club for my sun up to sun down 18 holes of golf!
Awesome public course
One of best public course around charlotte. I have played it 3 times now. Greens always good.
Incredible
Course is in the best shape for early winter that you could expect. The greens were excellent. Played with 3 friends and Aced the par 3 5th! Definitely a great day!
Great Course
Rocky River is one of the best courses near Charlotte, NC. The greens are always some of the best in the area and the fairways are good as well. Bunkers have nice sand and are very consistent. Good pace of play and the staff from the cart guys to the head pro are first class. Highly recommend Rocky River as your choice to play.
Great course and well maintained!
Wow, impressed by this course. Great layout and kept in great condition. A little short for my taste but I’m sure most wouldn’t have a problem with it. Only thing I wasn’t too happy about was the range balls. Time for a upgrade guys! Felt like I was hitting stones. Other than that, 5 stars. Thanks the good time!
Great Track
Rocky River is in great fall shape. Recently did some work on bunkers, taking some out. The greens are outstanding. Every one rolled true, you just have to get on the right side of the hole because they are quick. Fairways also in good shape for this time of year.
Cart path only because of wet areas, still had a good roll in fairways. Greens were good and fast. Staff was friendly, definitely will play again.
Pace of play/NHRA
The pace of play was absolutely terrible. They booked a 2-some in the middle of like 6 foursomes. Waited on every single tee box for at least 4-5 minutes and then would wait in the fairway for another 4-5 minutes to hit approach shots. Also the drag-race is in town and the entire round of golf all we heard was drag racing. They should offer some sort of discount on these days when the drag race is in town.
Tricky Par 3's
I played very well except for a pair of unforgiving Par 3's.
If you're not straight - kiss your balls goodbye!

Rocky River
Staff was AMAZING! I had an issue having enough time to get ready before my tee time and actually take a second to breath because of my daughter having me running behind. The staff completely understood and sent the group in front of me off instead to give me a few extra minutes. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Will be back for sure!
