Rocky River Golf Club at Concord

Rocky River is a scenic and well maintained course. The layout is excellent with a good mix of challenging and risk reward holes. The elevation changes make it even more esthetically pleasing and add another layer of difficulty.

The greens roll true and are very quick for the most part. There were a couple of exceptions on the back nine that seemed to be slower than the rest of.the course but they did not affect our round.

Each member of the staff we encountered was very friendly a d helpful! The only possible negative we could give is that the water coolers on the course were empty. This was on a hot August afternoon. When we mentioned it to one of the staff we were told "there are no maintenance personnel around on Sundays to refill them". It is a little surprising, to me at least, that such a nice course would cut corners to this extent.

We teed off at 4:20 pm in early August for a ~60/person twilight round. The course is very well maintained for a muni. Not fast or tight by any means, but at least consistent from 1 through 18. Layout isn't anything special, everything's pretty much right in front of you and not much thought is required around shot choice.

As is typical for a muni, pace of play was slow, lots of newer/less-skilled golfers, and there were no marshals out to keep up the target 4:30 pace of play. We ended up finishing up just under 5 hours having played through 2 groups early on the back 9.

The course had water stations set up (I think 4?), but all but the first were empty by that point in the day, and the clubhouse was closed at 6:30 meaning we were stuck without extra water on a hot evening.

The course was in great shape especially the fairways and greens. Some of the tee boxes were shabby. Great layout, big jump in difficulty to the blues from the whites. Great scenery. Would definitely play again. Walking is not hard as there is not a lot of distance between holes.

My grandson and I enjoyed playing nine holes on a somewhat hot Friday afternoon. The course was in great shape even with the recent aeration.

The layout is interesting and requires almost every club in the bag. Well maintained but a lot of red dirt areas remain but are mostly out of play. Wayward shots can be made worse. Fairways and bunkers are in great shape. Looking forward to checking out the greens once the punch marks heal.

Love Rocky River! Nice wide open fairways with beautiful views and great conditions. The greens had just been sanded so they were a little slow, but other than that the course was perfect!

I enjoyed playing here. It’s expensive but very nice condition.

Great course, fairways were in great shape as were the greens. Well maintained course. Design is challenging. I will play this each year as I come down annually to Waxhaw. A must play course.

Greens were fast, course was in amazing condition. A mix of challenging and scoring holes. Drink cart came around often. Only downfall is the range is often closed. I highly recommend this course.

I've played this course multiple times and loved it each time. Like the layout, the challenge and condition of the course. One issue is the holes requiring " Cart path only" even in the height of summer on a dry course. It always impacts pace of play and scores. Still have never gotten a reasonable explanation as to the reason for the rule on dry fairways. If this were to change, the rating may be higher.

Course was is great shape. Greens were nice but really fast. Staff was great as well. Def will play again. The price wasn't bad at all either. The carts had GPS and Bluetooth speakers and charging port.
