Really enjoy this course

Course was in great shape. Greens were good speed. Some of the tee boxes were not in great shape, but they are working on to get them back in shape.

Peaceful layout

Cedarbrook is a very nice layout that gently rolls through the trees of the foothills below Roaring Gap, NC. The course is a fair challenge for all skill levels but not overly difficult. The greens had just been aerated so I can not judge their condition but they still ran fairly smooth. Most greens had multiple tiers and sections. The fairways were in good condition but the tee boxes were in poor shape. Otherwise I would give the course a higher rating based on conditions and value. Overall, I would definately like to play this course again when the greens return to normal.

Always a good time

About a 45 min drive for me, so I don’t come here a lot but do try to come several times a year. The course was in great shape tee box to greens. Greens were rolling pretty fast, which makes a few of the pin placements pretty challenging! They have new very comfortable golf carts with the touch screen gps, which shows the yardage. Great course, very friendly staff, always a great time!

Gem of a course in a small town!

10/10 for me with this course. This is a championship caliber course that is friendly for golfers of all skill levels. The greens were very nice with some good speed to them. The course has many elevation changes for a non-mountain course that added to the challenge. Clubhouse was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. I especially appreciated the Golf Carts with very accurate GPS including locators of other carts around you so you don’t accidentally hit into someone on a few of the blind tee shots. Course was in excellent condition. We drove 1.5 hrs up from Charlotte to play this course and it was well worth the trip.

AWESOME!!!

Once again Cederbrook delivers. Well worth the 45 minute drive from the Triad to play. Staff was extremely friendly and appreciative as always. Course was in great shape. Looove the new golf carts. Much easier on the back because the seats are so padded you dont feel near as many of the bumps. Bunkers in great shape with nice fluffy sand. We were able to play our round in less than 4 hours. If you haven't played here before and are hesitant to drive that far, dont worry. You will not regret it.

WOW

Where do I start? We drove 50 miles to try this course for the first time on a great Hot Deal price and were NOT DISAPPOINTED!!!! They had just had a tournament the day before on the 4th of July and were having another in the next day or 2 so the course was much busier than usual with people playing practice rounds. Unlike most semi private courses where people tend to be snobs or rude towards outsiders, every person we talked to was super friendly, nice and even appreciative of us coming out to play. Talked to a member when we got there that was extremely nice and was telling us about the course and gave us some tips. My partner and I invited the guy waiting to tee off behind us on number 1 who also was a member to join us and he was very friendly and saved us atleast 5-10 strokes because of his course knowledge. The course was in great shape. Great layout. Greens were in excellent shape and you can tell the grounds crew and members take care of the course because there were very few unrepaired ball marks . Greens are very challenging. Many table top greens and some with 3 tiers. The food was great and very affordable and the carts had the extra padded seats that are extremely comfortable with GPS. Some of the tee boxes had sand but you can tell they are in the process of resodding/repairing them. If I had to find something to complain about it would be that many of the bunkers only had 1 rake and that was a slight inconvenience if you had to walk around to find a rake. Not a big deal though. Overall I am hard pressed to find anything I didnt like about Cedarbrook and we most definitely will be making the 50mile trip to play this course on a regular basis. After the round we ran into the same gentleman we talked to before playing and he thanked us for coming out and could not have been nicer. If you complain after playing this course then you are probably going to complain after playing Pebble Beach. Cedarbrook is definitely one of our new favorites!!!!!!

Members first, public golfer last

Members were playing 30 minutes per hole. No one said anything to them, and 2 groups (1 in front of us and 1 behind us) had to go around them. We started on the back and had to endure the last 3 holes at excruciating pace. Fairways were hit or miss. Tee boxes were sub par, and the greens were soft and bumpy. Layout is alright, lots of blind shots. I wouldn’t play here again, as you are not even close to the priority. Disappointing overall

Unreal Value

I will drive 45 minutes and past 5 other courses to go here. Amazing range, chipping, putting area. GPS carts, flawless tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens. They work hard to keep this course looking right!
