Watch out for the water!
Lightning fast greens but that’s what you get this time of the year. One guy in our foursome got his first eagle on the last hole at 90 yards. It was his birthday so that made our day!! We have played here many times and always enjoyed it.
Police your members
This course is pretty standard. The condition is getting better over the past year or so from where it was. Fairways are a little hard to see from the boxes.
I was lucky enough to be teeing off at the first hole and a few carts full of members rolled up and surrounded my cart. No care or concern that I was addressing the ball preparing to start my swing. I had to back off as they thought it was a good idea to have an incredibly loud conversation the entire time I was on the box. Even though I was a lone golfer with a cart, I asked them if they wanted to go out before me to which they replied no. They seem to get the point that I was waiting on them to shut their mouths before I completed my tee shot. I imagine they would have been the type to hit into me as well because as I was addressing my ball in the fairway, the first ball of their group I heard land about 30 yards behind me. I guess I should be thankful I'm longer from the blues than they were from the whites. Didn't see them after the first hole... Thankfully.
Course was in pretty good condition, tee boxes need some work. Overall it was a good experience. One problem I noticed is that the Canadian geese are quite abundant, so that being said!!! Have played this course several times.
Old faithful
Baywood is always a fun track. The family that runs it are always friendly. It's not expensive and the course is always in good shape.
typical neighborhood course. Very tight and OB along houses. Greens were not in very good shape. Receptive but grainy and bumpy.
Very affordable course through GolfNow.com
This course has a lot of water to the right of many of the holes. I am a novice and also tend to slice. That being said, I lost more balls than normal on this course. If you can play around the water this is a great course. Very friendly staff and great value on golfnow.com. The one complaint is that the greens on several of the holes are dry, bumpy, and slow.
Baywood
Some things are too good to be true, however that does not apply to this deal. We played at Baywood for $15 through the website vs. paying $30 per the golf pro running the course. This process was beyond easy and convenient. I paid online, checked in at the counter, and they handed me the golf cart keys. TOO EASY. We enjoyed the course and ease of everything so much we are playing again today at 11am. Hit'em Straight everyone.
Worth the time to play
Beautiful homes line the course but keep your eyes on the road while you're out playing because this course will have its way with you if you're distracted!
Water is a constant challenge on most of the course but the fairways are generous enough that good shots are rewarded with accessible shots to the green. The greens are fast but I like that.
All in all this is a very playable course for a decent player and challenging enough to be worth the money for anyone on either side of decent.
This was my second time on the course and I will be back soon!
