About
The 18-hole Panther's Run at Ocean Ridge Plantation in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina is a public golf course that opened in 1994. Designed by Tim Cate, Panther's Run at Ocean Ridge Plantation measures 7089 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 140 and a 73.7 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels. The greens are bent and the fairways are bermuda.
Panther's Run was born to be a different kind of challenge than Lion's Paw. Golf course designer Tim Cate has unleashed this cat to prowl along the edge of a natural preserve and continually tests your ability to stay out of, or hit over, the surrounding marsh land. Wide fairways that twist and turn with a variety of elevations, plus scenic water features blend perfectly.
The front nine picks its way through hardwood forest while the back nine is more open. The course is laid out along the edge of a natural preserve and tests golfers' ability to negotiate the surrounding marsh land and water. The fairways twist and turn and show a variety of elevations, as much as 60 feet in fact.

Worth time and effort
The course was a little dried out. The tee boxes, the rough, even some of the fairways were quite dry. The greens were in good shape albeit a little on the slow side.
The range balls are the most eclectic collection I have ever seen and paying $5 for a bucket of 25 balls is one of life’s little ironies.
Panthers Run
Panthers Run was a in great shape and was a challenging course to play. You were rewarded for hitting the fairway and punished for not. Well worth the money through Golfnow.
Good value
We got a GolfNow hot deal to play which was great value. The course was in good shape and the greens ran true although they were slow and hard to get the ball to the hole. The pace of play though was horrendous over 5 hours to play the round and we were a 3 ball waited on every shot. So I recommend this course but get an early tee time.

Busy course
They were way overbooked because ran out of carts and going one for one as players came in. About 1/2 hour to 45 minutes behind on tee times. Course was challenging but fair. The staff were all super friendly and helped make the wait bearable.

Love the course
Whenever we visit the area we try to play Panthers. We got off on time, had a 3some in front of us that was gone after the 2nd hole and a 4some a hole behind us. It was a great day and the course was in very good shape. We all enjoyed the day

Pretty Kitty Panther is a hard cat to tame ;)
The Panthers Run course is a blast to play. It's laid out with some unique challenges. I strongly disagree with the par 3 listed as the easiest hole though. Lol... I may have played the second shot out of the largest sand trap known to man with a shovel than any other club in my bag. #DoublePar
I do enjoy a course that challenges you to make smart shots instead of long shots and it provided that experience. Along with a wonderful view of nature areas and water spots to deposit useless golf balls. I'd like to see them offer a QR code or menu & phone number to pre-order food for the turn. I couldn't even find the place on the map and call ahead. That said, they do offer a limited menu for the turn and it's extremely quick.

excellent day until the backup at 10, other than that no complaints at all. Well maintained course with excellent staff and very challenging layout.

Great Course
Great Course, excellent conditions, a little difficult if cart path only. Several hole are quiet challenging, but the greens are good. Par 4's are a little long for me.

Decent
Played in winter so course was mostly dormant and after a rain. Course was a little wet in spots but not impossible to play but sand traps suffered. Greens in good shape and speedy. Overall enjoyed my game and course proved tk be challenging.

Great course but we did not finish due to cold weather . This made the price paid less desirable but not the courses fault

Good day on the links
The course was in good shape. The rye took nicely in the fairways and the greens were consistent. Some areas were a little damp but that is to be expected this time of year. The layout offers a good degree of variety and I would recommend putting it on your list.
