#4 West is a cool short par three with several good tee angles into an undulating green. Photo submitted by DenisDotson on 03/28/2020

The best scenery is on #8 West - a long and testing par 5 along the Calabash River. Photo submitted by DenisDotson on 03/28/2020

Great track, needs work
I thought the original design was very strong. Multiple tees, good greens, and well bunkered. Fit and finish needs some work.
Loooong Day at the Pearl
Felt the course was not in good shape as we were not allowed to drive on fairways du to seeding.. Round took 5 1/2 hours as the were usually 3 different groups on each hole. I understand the course wants to make money, however where is the consideration for the paying customers. I thought they should have told us the restrictions on golf now when we made the reservations a week before. Had to wait on every shot for the 2 groups ahead of us on every hole. Would not return again.
Slow Round
The round took 5 1/2 hours (poor). Could not drive on fairways which were not in great shape. Too many people playing for conditions of course. Not worth money or time.
East course still dry and need of repairs
West course nice ,in good shape,East course Still bone dry in need of 'Repair'.
Great Course
This was a very nice golf course, and worth the $60.
Quick greens and nice fairways. Would highly recommend.
Love the layout
Course was in good shape requires some shot shaping on a few hole course conditions were good well worth the drive up to Calabash, NC
The Third Ring of Dante’s Inferno
When Dante Alighieri uttered, “ In the middle of the journey of our life I found myself within a dark woods where the straight way was lost”, one might believe he was referring to the Pearl.
When you roll into the Pearl, it’s hard not to get optimistic with the beautiful marsh vistas and scenery, but those things are for websites and advertisements. Reality sinks in when the callous and socially wanton starter directs you to the first hole - starting on the East nine, you descend into the first ring, swarming with mosquitos and stacked with 3 groups, per hole, you quickly realize the conditions are in total disrepair and neglected for apparently decades - paths reminiscent of main thoroughfares in Baghdad after operation desert storm.
For the love of golf, you descend into the second ring, otherwise known as the fairways themselves - more receptive of potato farming than a good drive, a greyhound would be insulted if you compared them to a dog track.
I must go to Walgreens now for an at home malaria test kit, but heed my warning fellow golfers, the Inferno is real, and it goes by the name of The Pearl.
Always a great course
Played the west-east routing which we enjoy. One of the prettiest courses around and it was in very good shape. /i played the gold tees and my sons played the white which really meant that their driving had to be on. the greens were in great shape and the whole round was very enjoyable even with a little slow down due to the groups in front of us
Beautiful fun course
Played the West/East rotation. Course was in very good shape from tee to green. Greens were very fast and make sure you stay below the hole if possible. Lots of fun holes throughout the 18. Gorgeous views along the Calabash River. Mike the Starter was very nice and knowledgeable. Jarrett in the Pro Shop gave me lots of tips and the layouts of the 9's I was playing. Look forward to playing again next year.
Fun course.
Course was in very good shape. Pro Shop was very informative about the lay outs since this was my 1st time playing there. Put the Pearl on your list and play it. You will enjoy playing it and it has some beautiful views along the Calabash River.
Enjoyed the views
I played West/East. The course was in fair shape. Tee boxes were pretty bad throughout. I enjoyed the views along the water and the greens were fast, but the conditions were very inconsistent throughout. I would play again to try the North course
Great Calabash Course
Ive played several courses in this area and afyer playing this for the first time its one of my favorites. Friendly staff, nice layout, greens in great shape. Ill definitely come back.
