Golfer Reviews
Great course, getting new upgrades and better condition from 2 years ago, great + friendly staff
Great course
Great condition, Great value, one of my favorite courses
Horrible green conditions and not warned
Love this course layout. Specifically looked for course on GolfNow that didn’t have aerification alert and Deer Island was that; however, they forgot to update the status and greens had huge punch marks and tons of sand on them rendering them unputtable. Over $60 for Summer with crap greens.
5 hour round
Behind a 4 some with at least 3 open holes in front of them. No ranger. Was a 5 plus hour round. My tee time was 11 am. Quit due to weather on 17 at 4:00 pm. Lightning and thunderstorms. Beautiful course. Drove over an hour to play, and will not recommend unless you have time to kill.
Great Track
Course was in goo shape and was a course that made you think. Not hard but shots you have to think about. was a windy day so had to compete with mother nature. Great course.
Needs work.
We’ve played this course many times and it seems to be gradually going down hill. Maybe under new management? Greens were in rough shape, fairways were mediocre at best this time. Really excited to play this round and we were pretty disappointed to say the least. It’s not a lack of weather issue because we played another course in the area that was immaculate. Needs a lot of improvement
Great course!
This course is always in great shape! The greens were a little slower than usual but the rest of the course was in great shape! We will be back to play again!
Water Hazards Everywhere
I’m fairly certain that water comes into play on every hole. If not every hole then almost each and every hole. Often it comes at surprisingly awful moments which were unforeseen and unseeable. That I why I’ve dinged the “course amenities“ category since GPS on the carts would solve that problem. All of that being said, this course is in very good condition. Some greens are still recuperating from the freeze and drought but even those greens have only limited problem areas. If you’ve been thinking, “I’ve been playing well, I think I’ll play from further back.” DON’T!! This is one course to play more forward. Btw the driving range is a fairly long drive from the first tee box, so if you are pressed for time, beware. From tee to green the course is well maintained.
A lot of gators
Fairways in great shape. Some greens a little burned out but overall in great shape. It’s worth the drive to cup up here from Orlando. Very challenging. Lots of water. Fairways cut very nicely. I would highly recommend this course.
Try this course out
Challenging golf course that gives you an opportunity to see wildlife. The course conditions were very good with the exception of the greens being much slower than I like. The ownership has really worked hard improving this course overall and I think if you want to play a golf course in this area, Deer Island would be a good choice.
Deer Island
Challenging course in great condition. Water in play on all 18 holes. Plays tough in the wind.
Beautiful course
Our first time playing here in the recommendation of a friend. We were not disappointed. A beautiful course with a gorgeous layout beside the lakeside. Some challenging holes and fairways. The course was in excellent condition. Cannot find fault in any of the course and would definitely play here again
Fantastic
Deer Island was in fantastic shape, great layout, lots of wonderful scenery and even a few very uninterested gators.
Deer Island 7/20/26
Course was in great condition although the greens were running slow. Overall, good value and great overall course
I played this 2 weeks ago. I used to play it often but I moved and now it's an hour drive. It's been a couple years but I decided to make the trip. While this is still a good course and I enjoyed my round the course has slipped a little bit. I was told it is now under new management. Hopefully they can get it back to its previous condition.
