Oyster Reef Golf Course

Beautiful course. Friendly staff. Well managed facility.

The course is in awful shape. Most tee boxes are all beat up and impossible to find some grass. A lot of the greens had more sand than grass and most of the bunkers didn’t have any sand in them.

With all the options on the island, for the money I would look someplace else.

It will be a long time before I consider playing this course again!

The course has many 90 degree doglegs placing a premium on tee shot placement Conditions were good enough, with. Some bare spots on the tees and fairways but greens were quite slow and recently sanded to deal with bare spots. Pace of play was an issue with round taking 4:45, way too long for this course. Despite my criticisms, the course is okay for a vacation round as long as you are not trying to compare it to a world class course.

Used to be one of my favorite courses to play on HHI, but not lately. Course is poorly maintained - fairways surprisingly bare for this time of year. Bunkers looked to have been abandoned, had not been raked in days. Greens were the slowest rolling greens I have played in quite a while. Soggy fairways on the back 9. There are much better courses to play in HHI than this one right now.

Very overpriced at $191. Condition of the fairways and greens don’t justify the high price. Oyster Reef is about a $80 course. Pace of play was terrible with 4 groups on one hole.

Player friendly forgiving course. Pace of play is good. Greens can be improved in some areas. Over all good experience.

Good course on the island. Bunkers were not kept very well the morning we played. Temporary green on #9 that we didn’t know about until the starter informed us. Overall value didn’t match the price we paid. Still a nice course.

I don’t believe this is a 119 slope from the white. There is sand everywhere and it’s tight. The course conditions were ok, but it was not in the shape it should have been for the price. It’s also not nice enough to charge $8 for a hot dog.

Overall staff is friendly. Personally I would wait for the greens to be better. They explained the reduced cost was given because of the condition, but I did not find out until arrive for my tee time. Had this app made it clear, I would have chosen elsewhere to play at this time.

The course was in good condition and pace of play was solid. We played on a Sunday morning In July and there was no water coolers on the course, beverage cart was not available and the restaurant was closed. We finished at 12pm and the restaurant was just opening but nothing was available.

Hot day over the weekend. The course does not present the view I would expect for an oceanfront location. Course conditions are good. Overall it is an enjoyable experience. Next time I would play at local courses, instead of 5 hour drive.

Worth the drive. Range great. Golf balls provided.

Oyster was the 8th round over a 2 week period while on HHI. As always course was in good shape, Especially given the drought in the area. Out of the 8 played would rank #2 behind HH Nat. Play here every year. If your a long hitter play the far back tees due to the many doglegs

While visiting Hilton Head we played Oyster Reef. Had a great time and overall quality experience. Course is payed out well. Challenging yet playable for avg golfers.

I talked to the pro shop the day before we played and was told the course was aerated the week before and that it was in good shape. That was a lie ! big patches of the greens were completely dug up , the greens must have been in horrible shape before they were aerated. what grass that was there looked black and moldy, And was told that green fees were 50% off. That did not happen. $175 w/club rental. Played Shipyard the day before and it was in great shape
