Robert Cupp at Palmetto Hall Plantation

We play the Cupp every tear for the last 12 years. Lovethe design and always in good condition.

No GPS or course layout provided. First time players are at the mercy of lots of water and sand!!!!!!

I would not play again without upgraded facility!

They had no Marshalls out watching the course and it was the slowest run of golf I've ever played. Clearly nobody there taking care of the pace of play. It showed up when I checked in and it was a long line of people to check in at the front desk. No urgency to this place whatsoever. I will not go back. Too bad because the course was okay

We arrived at 11:30 for our 12:45 tee time only to find that they close the driving range from 11-1 on Tuesday for maintenance. Why not close it later in the day after all groups are off? Also, the tee boxes were very confusing and difficult to see what color the tee boxes markers were. We drove by several tee boxes and had to go back. There was no course layout on the scorecards and no visual tee markers so a first time player had no idea of where the hidden hazards were. The pin placements was #3 but all flags were pink and there was no pin placements card on the cart.. Everything seemed to be set for members but very difficult for tourists, and this was in Hilton Head, S.C., a tourist Mecca.. we will never play there again.

I had made time for the cupp course and while checking in the golf shop they informed me the course was aerated a week or so ago. They said i could play the hills course but a couple groups had just gone out . The cart attendants suggested playing hills and let me start on ten so I wouldn’t be stuck behind those groups. Hills course was in good shape and was able to play extremely fast in the 100 degrees which was a bonus. Caught one of the groups on 6 after already playing back first and they let me play thru so ultimately played in around 3 hours which was great

For the price I expected to greens to be in at least average shape but these were in very poor condition. Course overall was pretty challenging with bottleneck fairways throughout and punishing bunkers on slight mishits. Once you reach the greens, the condition was below average at best. Very slow greens overall but also very inconsistent with burn/damaged areas throughout consisting of 20-30% of each green. Staff were friendly and offered us a free beer after our round. They also gave us 10% off at the store simply for playing.

Challenging. Fairway, Fringe, were in excellent shape. Greens were very slow and sandy. Perhaps they were working on them for the off season. Overall good experience. Friendly staff.

We played the Cupp course and throughly enjoyed it even though it was raining the entire time. Challenging and unique layout.

Greens had just been aerated was not expecting that.

Course is pretty and in good shape. Noticed remodel of restaurant and on course. Very pleased.

Terrifying views of fairways and water on the drive into the course. Didn’t play that way though. Tight makes you hit it right. Greens were the most challenging we’ve been on in years but they were fair and perfect

The course was in excellent conditions , pace of play was very good

I really enjoyed the course. Staff was very friendly and treated me like a VIP. The course was well maintained. Weather was great and I was paired up with great and friendly golfers on vacation from Canada. I will definitely play this course again.
