Nice but . . .
Excellent course it’s in great shape. The greens were real pretty but kind of slow other than that. Enjoyed it.
GREAT LAYOUT…
Toughest layout ranks right up there with TPC Sawgrass. Great conditions great clubhouse great staff great food. If the greens just weren’t so fuzzy and slow. This course will test every shot in your bag I highly recommend you give it a try.
Nice course
Greens looked like carpet and you never see the same hole or layout twice. If there was any negative they filled the on course water coolers with garden hose water.
Course in Great Shape but greens a bit slow
I met my daughter and friend to play 18 at Cimarrone....I heard that the course was challenging and in good shape. I've been playing to a 6 handicap, but I lately I play a scramble only with my daughter so that we have an enjoyable day together. First, the clubhouse and range were really nice and everyone was pleasant. My first impression was there is a fair amount of water on the course and that the limited fairway bunkers were in strategic locations for your drive. All of the fairways and greens were in great shape...only improvement needed would be a couple of the tee boxes need some attention just because of the use.
As far as the greens, they were in great shape, however, they were on the slower side for me. The starter said they keep them a bit longer because they would be really fast otherwise. Not sure if that's true or not, but I think they could be a a bit shorter and rolled. If that was done, course would be fantastic!
For context, my favorite course is Southern Dunes and that's what I use as a comparison.....if you know, you know :)
Course in Great summer shape
Course played in great condition, only thing was greens in great shape but played slower
Course in good shape
I enjoyed the round. The pace of play was great, fairways and greens are in great condition. The greens were a little slow but they are in great shape.
Great Course but Shag Carpets for greens
This course is in great shape..other than the greens being extremely fuzzy. If they could speed the greens up this place would be absolute money! Conditions were great other than that, got around in 2.5 hours.
Not Quite There Yet
Overall: Cimarrone has an incredible layout, and the variations of tees can make this challenging for anyone. Staff are always friendly, and the clubhouse & pavilion are both very nice. Overall, this course is an incredible track and a lot of fun.
The kicker: Course conditions are very, very average. The greens are, without fail, slow and furry year-round (aeration season aside). Tee boxes are hit or miss, with some being uneven, patchy, and sandy. My biggest beef? Pace of play. 5 -hour rounds are always in play. I have had 30+ minute tee time delays due to the course not having carts available (from stacking tee times too close together). Pair that with slow play, and the day turns into an annoying experience.
I really want this place to figure it out, because it has potential to easily be one of the best public courses in North Florida.
UNPUTTABLE GREENS!!!!
Greens were slowest I’ve ever seen.
Drought conditions & 4 fairways were cart path only! WHY? It’s a good layout & normally enjoyable to play, but not when the greens are this poor it takes away from being a good experience to I’m not going to play there again!
Nice track
I really enjoyed my round here. Greens recently punched and were slow but easy to adjust to. The course has a lot of character with a nice layout. Staff is friendly and accommodating. No complaints except for a group of members who suddenly appeared on #10 and seemed to play by their own set of rules.
I would definitely play again next visit and highly recommend.
SSSLLOOOOOWWWWW GREENS
The greens are so slow they are unplayable. And $92 including a small bucket of balls is no deal. Other than that, it’s a great place.
Slow greens ruin the round
I have been playing here since the course was bought and renovated. The conditions tee to green are very good except in a few bare areas. Drainage on the 8th hole continues to be a problem and results in cart path only, EVERY round. The real problem is the slow speed of the greens. You can't make any putts on these greens because the ball stops like its on Velcro, even downhill. This is a 5 star layout held back by slow greens. If the course next door (Stillwater) can have greens running at normal speeds, I don't understand why this facility continues to keep them slow and bumpy!
The greens are so slow they are unplayable. I mean, they are unplayable!
Nice Day
Our four ball Teed off at 8:48 behind a 3 some who we only saw for the first three holes. 3:40 pace of play. Drought conditions is the only thing not giving a higher rating. Greens are in nice shape and lush, just very slow to putt. Will return when the rains come!!
5.5 hour round
Nice day, but backed up several times throughout the day. Need to spread out the tee times based on handicaps.
Won’t allow singles
Won’t let singles book a tee time. Called the pro shop and they said it was their policy. Reached out to GM to clarify- no response. Super disappointing
5+hr round
An extraordinarily long round do to a rude foursome in front of us. they were Palm Valley type golfers. One gentleman was a member.(he had his own cart.) he should know better. The management did not lift the finger to correct the situation. Definitely will not be back. Bad news travels fast!
I agree. The greens are unplayable.
