Better than Expected
Centers of greens were immaculate for speed and consistently true roll. Did have an issue with mowers literally scalping the perimeter of the greens DURING play. Would recommend to anyone playing at a different time of the year!
Excellent Course
Second time playing this course, both times it has been in immaculate condition. The tall pine trees surrounding the course and holes give this place an awesome vibe, tee boxes, fairways, greens and bunkers all perfect. The staff is very laid back and accommodating, they provide great service while also leaving you to enjoy your round on your own. Lots of doglegs bring a variety of different tee shot options into play, a very fun course.
NOT what it used to be!!
We’ve been vacationing in Destin area for 20+ years and always play 3 rounds during our week vacations. Indian Bayou was always included in that as tradition. Although not as nice as Kelly Plantation, Raven, etc it was always in great shape and a fun course with a lot of value. It’s been a few years since we’ve been (was still 27 holes last we played it) and unfortunately a lot has changed for the worse. Fairways were decent shape but the greens were horrible condition. Slow and rough with every green having a burnt up dirt fringe about two feet wide. Pace was very slow and no marshal to speak of to speed play up. Most shocked about rate. $175 for a noon tee time. I wouldn’t go back and play it again for $75. Used to love the course, so sad.

Favorite Course in the Panhandle
Great layout and great conditions! We played exactly 14 days post aerification and outside of aesthetics, the greens rolled true. Conditions from tee to green were 10 out of 10! Ultimately from my experience, you either pay for views or quality conditions in this area, with a trade off depending on which you choose. If you want a solid golf course, this is your place!
Poor conditions
First time playing this course. Greens were freshly plugged so I can’t speak to their normal quality. I was told they normally have good greens but not when we were there. Overall course conditions were definitely lacking. Lots of thin and barespots on tee boxes and fairways. Every hole seemed to be a dogleg of some kind. Pretty tight course for driver. Only way I would come back is if the conditions improved. Would probably spend my money elsewhere though if I’m being honest. Not my cup of tea. Regatta bay, Raven, Kelly are much better options.
Love Indian
My son and I try to play Indian every year we come down to Destin. I love the character of the course. It is not the most lush course in Destin but I believe it has the most character. This year my cousin came with us to play and he enjoyed it.
Punched greens played awesome !
One of my favorite courses in the area on vacation.
I wish they gave a smidge of a discount for aeration. Other than that it is well worth the money
