Kings Ridge Golf Club - Kings Course
About
A Lloyd Clifton creation of Kings Course at Kings Ridge Golf Club is an 18-hole beauty and Lake County's best-kept secret. Great greens, severe elevation changes, and well-placed hazards will keep you focused on this course. By focusing on the importance of playability, aesthetics and maintenance, Clifton has captured the natural beauty of the area. It is "thinker's course" where players have an opportunity to use every club in the bag.
King's Ridge opened a second 18-hole course in 2002. The new Ridge Course at Kings Ridge Golf Club is a Par 57, 3660-yard course designed by Ron Garl, making this an ideal location for your 36-hole day.

Nice layout. The course is a bit rough but the price was right.
Slow play
Slow, inexperienced players in front of us and no ranger, kept parking their cart in front of the green, greens were slow - not cut on Saturday??? Layout is enjoyable, friendly staff
Getting back into shape
Workers were everywhere, but they were very courteous. KR has green grass in the fairways and around the greens. There are some weedy areas, but I'd rather have that than hardpan and dirt, like many other (higher priced) courses. Fun course that has it's challenges.
Play King's Ridge many times in the past
My experience with the course condition at King's Ridge was not so favorable this time. Greens were mostly okay but there were some bare spots and sandy spots. Rough is mostly sand with some grass but very short. One thing I noted that was rather disturbing was that it didn't matter where you went on the course it was extremely bumpy in the rough on the fairways just about everywhere. Not the kind of condition I'm used to seeing at Kings Ridge. The whole course needs a lot of TLC.
Kings Ridge
Enjoyed the course very much. The only problem we had was the group teeing off 20 minutes after us was already on the tee box when we arrived for our time.
King's Ridge used to be in better shape
Have played King's Ridge many times in the past. I remember it as a good course, but this time not so much. Unfortunately it needs a lot of work. Concrete cart paths are in bad shape, rough and Fairways are extremely bumpy needs smooth out. Greens were okay, but slow and some of the greens had Sandy patches. It was less expensive but now I understand why.
Jeff was great.
I had a slight mishap and called to advise I may be late. He was so accommodating. Put me with a twosome and we had a great day!
Needs water
Tea boxes and fairways were terrible. Greens are OK.
No Complaints ... almost....
The course was in great shape and the greens were faster than they normally are at KRidge.
The pace of play was a bit slow, but still played in about 4 hours give or take.
The only complaint is there is not a beverage cart. KRidge had one for awhile a while back, but there is not a cart now circulating. There is also no water on the course to drink.
A different course in Central Florida
I always enjoy playing here because it is not like most central Florida courses which are flat and have lots of water. This course has a lot of elevation changes (both elevated tees, and uphill fairways). Not a lot of side hill. From most tees, no forced carries (and even from the one it's about 150 yds). Bunkers are not hard packed from being watered so, even when wet, you are playing a sand shot (as opposed to sand hardpan).
The tee shot on 18 is always fun. A little easier with a couple of trees gone, but still a challenge to lands your shot and judge the side roll.
The course is in good shape, a few rough areas (but generally where you shouldn't be playing from anyway).
Very nice course and good value for money
Played here for the first time, would like to play several times to get a hang of it, challenging at parts but overall nice course. They did some recent maintenance on the greens so some of them were quite bumpy but overall in good condition.
