Legends Golf & Country Club
Legends Golf & Country Club offers an 18-hole championship course that has become one of the most popular golf courses in central Florida. The course features dramatic elevation changes, which allow golfers to take in breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and citrus groves. Legends Golf & Country Club is known for its par-3 holes, but one of the most memorable holes is the par-4 fifth hole. The hole is a downhill dogleg left with an elevated tee that provides a spectacular view. Legends Golf & Country Club has a classic, moderately difficult layout that is difficult if approached too casually but also quite playable, even from the championship tees.

Greens are fabulous
The greens are fabulous. Best greens I have played on in Florida in years. Ball rolled smoothly and true. See for yourself and play a round at Legends.
Have not played this course since 2005, this course was in phenomenal condition being that they have just reopened, I would put them as the best course for the price in the clermont area, great job !!!!!
Was so happy when they started fixing this place up . The layout is very good though but fair at the same time, I would say as it matures it will get better greens were in good shape played slower than they looked but all in all a great experience
Glad it's finally open
Welcome back Legends!! The course basically looked the same. Hole #3 there wasn't the water puddles like before. The greens were fast and there wasn't any give....curve. All your putting shots had to be "straight on". We well be going back, it's a good course, have to get 're-use" to it!!
This course has awesome greens
This is the 1st time I have played Legends since it reopened. The course is in beautiful condition.
The greens were so pure. Had some challenges regarding speed but if you had the direction then it held the line extremely well.
I will definitely play this course many times and recommend to my friends.
Have really missed playing this course. The course looks great the greens were better than I have seen them in the past. Great Job. The only downside - just a tad pricey for summer.
Course is in great shape.
The greens are the best I've seen around. The course is coming along nicely. Can only get better. Played in under 4 hours in the morning. We will definitely be returning.
Nice newly redone course
Greens are great fairways are good. Lots of soft sand in the rough hopefully that us just growing pains. Overall for the price really good round of golf.
I've played this course so many times in the past before they closed for several years and with this being the first weekend they were back open I can honestly say it's almost like they never closed. If you liked this course before you'll still love it. I mean everything was the same as before, including the greens and how they were sloped in the past. The greens were PERFECT, fast and rolling true. The fairways were well manicured. The bunkers actually had real sand which made me feel very confident hitting out of a bunker knowing the conditions were consistent. Hopefully the management team can maintain this level of quality, but if you're hesitant about playing here don't be!
Sorry, clarifying my 1st review.
I previously indicated was surprised some of the greens were bare, when I meant some of the tee boxes, the greens were very nice. Thanks
I forgot to mention, you need to have Golfnow/Teeoff remove all previous reviews that are from 3 years ago and before so they are not factored in with this new course being opened again and these new reviews. Thanks
The greens were nice and way better than most average courses. Majority of the fairways were in pretty good shape but the rough was worse than expected - with some crabgrass, weeds and uneven dirt mounds - especially on Hole # 11 on left side of fairway. Some of the greens were also pretty bare, which was a surprise being a brand new course. However with all that said, overall nice job so far and please don't let these greens go bad as this is only decent course in the direct Clermont Area worth playing anymore, not counting Bella Collina which is in a different bracket of its own.
The other concerns they will hopefully work out soon is booking tee times, booked this round on Teeoff.com, which is owned by Golfnow and their computer didn't have my booking or the other two guys who also booked through Teeoff.com. The guy in the clubhouse at first said we don't have you but after showing him the pre-paid confirmation he did the right thing and got us out and even a few minutes before our scheduled tee-time, so nice job there. I did indicate to him that whomever contracted with Golfnow/Teeoff needs to clear up the disconnect so these issues don't occur again and he stated it isn't Legends Fault, then whose is it, because it is not your customers fault? Also, in reading some other new comments, have to agree about taking along time to get a drink at the turn in the Restaurant and pay for it, so recommend a dedicated worker be ready for golfers trying to get a drink and back to the next hole as soon as possible as this will otherwise slow the back nine on a regular basis, on the weekends anyway. In summary, will return and look forward to more progress.
WELCOME BACK !! THANK GOD !!
First of all
The previous post about the greens and the lack of a cart girl and the rough shape of the 15th hole perhaps in their opinions were issues.
Perhaps to this person these accounts were true from their viewpoint.
Perhaps they had an alternate motive for posting a Negative review. Whatever their motive was, I found a very different account of their concerns.
Down to Earth has done an excellent job of resurrecting a dead golf course. Other than perhaps Bella Colina, there isn’t a golf course as tournament ready as the Legends GC in Clermont
It's good to be back
Hats off to the HOA of the Legends for bring back one of the best courses in the Clermont area. The greens where very good and the you can tell they have put a lot of time and effort into rebuilding this course. Not completely there yet but with time and player support they they will be. 3 1/2 stars on its way to 5!
By far best public course in Clermont
Greens were excellent, and fairways and tee boxes were way above average. The rough needs time to catch up, as to get the course opened they needed to focus on those first. The sand traps are inconsistent, as they went more for the aesthetic of lots of white sand - so you can get a really lumpy lie or easily have a fried egg if you hit into a trap from distance. My biggest concerns are the lack of rangers (for both slow play and to ensure people rake traps, don't drive carts where they aren't supposed to, etc.) and no beverage cart/the slowness of getting a drink/snack at the turn. My understanding is the beverage cart is supposed to be addressed.
Overall, the other options in the immediate area pale in comparison. Sure - you could pay twice as much (or more) and try and get on at Bella Collina, or you could pay a little less and get on other local courses. But for my money, Legends is by far the best public course and option outside of Orange County within 20 miles of Clermont. I am more than happy playing here versus driving 30 minutes or more to play courses like Deer Island or Mission Inn.
