Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands
About
Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is carved from gently rolling hills located just outside of Orlando in the city of Leesburg. Although the wide fairways are relatively flat, the golf course's terrain provides the greens with gentle undulation. Sparkling lakes provide scenery while also coming into play as water hazards on nine holes. There are also doglegs and bunkers throughout to provide the golf course with even more challenges. Much of the land that the club occupies has been preserved as a wetlands area, offering golfers a glimpse of native wildlife. In addition to its natural beauty, Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is popular due to its accessible layout that accommodates both low and high handicap players.

Meh
Tee boxes weren't mowed and hard to locate tee markers. Greens were good but crazy fast. Course was not what I expected. Probably wouldn't come back. Staff were nice, just course fell well short of expectations
Disappointed
Have played this course many times in the past. Love the layout and conditions in the past were generally above average. I haven't been there since the spring. This course has gone downhill. Tee boxes have been overseeded and haven't been cut. Fairways were thin, lots of bare spots and weeds. Greens were full of crabgrass but were actually the best part of the course. Sadly, we will not be returning until we see other reviews hailing improvements in the quality of the course. Its sad because this was one of the better courses in the area.
Greens ok
Course needs lots of water. Fairways were thin to mostly sand. I guess this is just how it is with our drought.
Course was horrible
Unfortunately this course has went downhill, tee boxes and fairways do not have any grass, and practically unplayable! Greens were okay but still not at there best that I have seen here in the.past.
Friendly Staff but Couse Needs Work
My title says it all. The course could be loads of fun, but it needs a lot of work tee boxes, fairways. Greens were okay.
This is not a golf course!!!
I saw the reviews on 4 stars on this course, but the reality this course condition was terrible!! all the tee box except number 10 was having grass, all the fairways all dirts!! only good thing the green was decent, the price was too high for this condition of the Cours!!
this course need a lot of work,
Ripped
Shouldn’t allow them to book a tee time in the middle of a scramble tournament filled with old people who play extremely slow would like my money back quit after 9 holes too slow
Great Feeling
I always feel great when and after playing at Monarch. Great layout, friendly people, very good dining room, fast pace of play. Always look forward to playing the course.
Don’t always believe reviews
My friend and I booked this course based on the 4 star reviews. While greens were in pretty good shape, the fairways were dry and sparse. Most tee boxes also needed attention.
On a positive note, the staff was friendly and the layout was nice.
Worst course I have ever played
No grass on tee box no grass in fairways. Hitting off weeds. Course not taken care of. The greens were fast and decent. Only reason I didn’t ask for a refund was the greens. Will never play again
Pretty bad shape
The course over all has a ton of potential with its lay out but unfortunately the place has gone south as far as it comes to greens, fairways, and tee boxes. If you want practice hitting out of the sand it’s a great course for that.
A Favorite
While undergoing aeration , the course was still fun and challenging.
