Laurel Hill Golf Club has some of the best conditions of any public course in the area, which is why it is popular amongst the locals. It is hard to believe that the club sits where the DC Department of Corrections facility at Lorton used to be located. The layout has a traditional design, but unlike older golf courses it runs a lengthy 7,102 yards from the back tees. The greens are lightning fast and undulating. There is defined contouring throughout the course, which allows for some interesting holes. Although the fairways are wide open they are still punishing towards errant shots. There are dramatic elevation changes throughout the golf course, making a flat lie nearly impossible to find. The course provides a formidable test for even the most seasoned players.

Great layout

Laurel Hill is a top notch golf course. From layout to conditions, staff etc., I can’t find any area to criticize; well except the hard packed sand in the bunkers. I’m guessing the recent rains caused that, and it gave me fits. A great day on the golf course, and kudos to the staff. Thanks for a fantastic golf experience.

Ok not bad but not great

The day I played it was wet from the previous night rain, making it cart path only (which always sucks). The layout was interesting and I can see it being a bit more challenging from the back tees. Tee box maintenance was mixed. The greens were inconsistent. I would like to give this course another try when it’s dry.
