Great layout, great facilities. Could be better maintained

Arrived at the club shop and the lad working was friendly and helpful, first time playing there and he gave a great overview of the course. General conditions of the fairways and rough were top but the tee boxes and greens could be better, grass just a bit long on the greens and almost unreadable. The bunkers are the worst I’ve seen, just solid with not much sand and with grass growing in some. Layout is really good, not many straight holes and each one makes you think you’re way round. Par 3s are my favourite that I’ve played, short but tricky. Parking, bar, restaurant and golf shop all really good. Overall enjoyed the round, definitely can improve maintenance of the bunkers, tee boxes and greens.

Nice layout

Tees need a lot of attention and all bunkers were deemed GUR. So some work is being carried out. Lengthy walks from green to tees but otherwise this is a really nice course with some testing holes. Really good value for money.

Could be better

I haven't played here for a few years, now I know why, the layout of the course is top notch. if I was to say the greens, tee boxes and bunkers were terrible I'd be paying them a compliment. How you can justify charging £30 for a course in that condition is just highway robbery. Sadly a good course gone to ruin.

Great course layout just needs a little tlc.

On the day i played the course, the fairways and greens were a little woolly and could have done with a trim. the bunkers need attention, far too many and far too big to start with, some are already gur. if all the above could be returned to a good standard this course would be a top pick, the par 3’s are magnificent and the par 5 double dog leg certainly makes you think. i met up with a couple of new members and i believe there’s been an influx of some 400 new members hopefully this can be invested into the course maintenance.

Slow greens

Another round here at Linden, weather was great, but breezy. After such a hot dry spell expected greens to be much faster than they were, slow and needed a cut. Layout of course is great, but quite a few bunkers were GUR

Always a great course to play, just a shame re speed of greens.

Greta layout poor condition

Played this course plenty of times and the layout and surroundings are great. Unfortunately let down by condition. Greens long, slow and bobbly. Fairways look like they haven’t been cut in a month. Bunkers mainly GUR. Shake as the potential has always been there with linden. I know they have minimal ground staff which doesn’t help, but condition isn’t great at all

Great potential

Booked via golf now as an extra course on our way back from a golf trip in Northumberland. Didn't know what to expect as it was relatively cheap. I was really impressed by the course layout and the interesting holes , especially the par 3's and 5's. If a little more time and effort was spent on the upkeep of the course especially the fairways and bunkers this would be a must play course if you are in the area. As it was it was a very enjoyable round and good value for money

Very disappointed

Very disappointed, had heard good things.

Place looked scruffy

Practice green was terrible, practice net had no net

A lot of damaged on the so called USPGA standard greens.

Tee boxes were very scrappy and poorly cut.

And the members we were playing behind were intensely slow and incredibly rude.

Wouldn’t play there again.

Slow!

Course was in great condition but the pace of play made it impossible to enjoy. It took us 4.5hrs to get thru 13 holes and at that point we walked off. Each tee was backed up and we were waiting over 10 minutes to tee off on every hole. If the pace of play was better I’d definitely recommend playing here. If it’s as slow as it was all the time then I’d steer clear.
