An enjoyable visit to Alnwick Castle GC
A good and challenging course, and with good hospitality in the clubhouse, a most enjoyable experience at Alnwick Castle GC.
Good and bad
Played here earlier in summer. The greens weren't particularly great then and they weren't this time either. Not bad just fluffy and slow. Generally course conditions are good however. Very hilly front 9, much more open back 9.
Lovely club house and good views. For the price we paid I'm not complaining. If you can play here for around £20 it's good value.
Great layout and well kept
Great layout and reasonably well kept, however pro shop is poor but staff are very welcoming.
Course in good condition with, for the most holes wide fairways, but some holes challenging either with narrower fairways or "up hill" drives to blind greens. The 18th is a long uphill hole especially if into the wind. Enjoyed the round.
Fantastic value
Paid £14 for a tee time and had a considerably better time than I have on courses for over twice the price. Beware of the wind
A hidden gem
We played this course once and fell in love with it and became long distant members. It's a great course to play with amazing surroundings. You will struggle to meet nicer people than the professionals that run the entire business. With Sea views and we were lucky enough to see a deer running across the course all on a beautiful sunlit evening it was simply a perfect day and one we will not only repeat but also recommend to everyone.
Alnwick golf
The course was well laid out and in excellent condition. The views are stunning and it was quiet so not rushed. We hired a buggy as it’s quite hilly and long. Only issue was the club house was closed when we finished at half five. Apart from that would highly recommend.
Holiday round
Lovely parkland course on the outskirts of Alnwick
2 very different 9’s with lots of trees and hills on first 9 then long flat holes on back nine.
Greens a bit hairy but turf excellent

Greens are getting better. Lovely course great scenery.
Re visit since change of layout.
Lovely course in a lovely area.
New club house and pro shop are really nice, course was set up and playing lovely. One slight issue greens are in really good condition just need to be cut shorter and rolled. As for the middle of June they are terribly slow.
Can’t grumble tho brilliant course really enjoyed it and would definitely play again.
Great course year-round, friendly staff and members
Really love this style of course. The front 9 is quite intricate and gets the swing warmed up nicely, the back 9 is more open and drivability comes into play more.
The course has great views all the way out to the sea, being so high up. The staff really have put effort in during the summer to keep the greens from drying out, which is good to see.
I believe the practice nets are a new addition which is good to see for those who use them.
Staff in the pro shop and also the clubhouse are very friendly and welcoming, always happy to help members and visitors.
