Rewards straight hitting off the tee

Found this course to my liking. Especially enjoyed 2nd 9 which rewards sptright drives. By no means the longest course but still a fine test.

Couldn't find my range on the greens but that was obv down to me. Still found most greens in regulation and would definitely play here again.

Guiness in clubhouse was spot on aswell.

Good course- a play was a bit slow

Good course. Friendly staff. The pace of play was slow as there was a competition in front of me so 4balls pretty much as far as the eye could see. I teed off at 1.10pm. Greens were very good and bunkers well raked. I would play again.

A really well maintained course!

First time playing here and the whole course was extremely well maintained. Greens were beautiful. Friendly staff and definitely would recommend to others, especially to mid to high handicappers as the course is relatively forgiving compared to others with more hazards locally. If I had one gripe, the 13th and 16th (I think) are extremely close to one another and wasn’t overly clear which one was which, especially as hasn’t played before, no map on the scorecard and was playing myself. However absolutely nitpicking, would definitely play here again.

Just superb.

Always wanted to play this course with my 75 year old dad and it didn't disappoint. Golf now had paired us with another twoball (an awful feature of the service) but Morpeth is one of the sensible clubs that is happy for you to tee off on your own if the tee is free.

The course itself is fabulous and a good test whilst still being fair so ideal for all standard of players. All parts of the course were in fantastic condition with a front nine fairly long but open, whilst the back nine is a bit shorter but tighter. Standout holes include the 13th, which is a par 4 up the steepest bank I've ever seen to an elevated green at the top of the course (beautiful views), and the subsequent 14th, which is an elevated par 3 playing down to the green. The members were wonderful, everyone saying hello and chatting with us when appropriate, and the clubhouse had some lovely staff and just an incredibly welcoming feel. The food was lovely as well and very reasonably priced. All in all just a brilliant day out and we'll definitely be returning!

Enjoy this course, good fairways and green , well maintained, definitely will play again when in this area, I was a solo golfer so it was slower than normal catching up 4 ball that wouldn’t let me thru, but not to bothered as there was a number of 4 ball up ahead so I just relaxed and enjoyed the course 😊👍

Spot on End to great week

My friend and I played Morpeth GC as an end to a fab week playing golf in Northumberland, and what a great end to the week it was.

Very friendly welcome, good cafe with great coffee and bacon butties. Course was in fabulous condition, with varying holes capped by greens in really good condition. For visitors a little more signage would have been helpful, but it didn't take the shine off a great last day + round of our holidays.

Morpeth

Friendly greeting from club pro.

Very friendly staff

Very friendly and helpful staff. Pleasant course. Back 9 more interesting than slightly repetitive front 9. Constant traffic noise unfortunate when I played. But a good experience overall.

Windy weather
Walked

Cracking course in top notch condition.

I don't know whether it was since I was playing well (which always helps I guess) but today's round at Morpeth GC was fantastic. My Tee off was 2pm, the lad at the pro shop was really nice and let me tee off a bit earlier since I got there early to allow for traffic. The first thing I noticed was the wind was very fierce and going out the first three holes are into the teeth of the gales so playing very long, but when your hitting off beautifully presented tee boxes and crisp fairways you don't care. The rest of the course is beautiful too, with picturesque par 3's a gigantic 580 yard par 5 (downwind on this occasion) and lot's of changes in elevation so all in all a true test of golf. Fellow golfers and members were all nice and friendly too. Just wish I lived a bit closer since I'd love to join this wonderful club. Highly recommend to everyone!
