Gem
Played the course yesterday for the 1st time, absolutely loved it will definetely be back and recommend to anyone. Course was in great condition and greens superb.
Only criticism I had was played in the afternoon clubhouse was closed when we got off (7.15pm) which I found odd considering the amount of passers by and dog walkers to the beach running adjacent to the course thinking they would be in for a pint or coffee thought it might be open later with it being a Saturday.
Other than that no complaints at all 😊
Great place to play golf
Love going to Alnmouth village as always welcoming. After telling the lads I play with how good the greens are at AVGC they were actually poor . I’ve played several times and this was the only time I’ve found this.
really helpful staff
strained my achilles before the holiday. staff really helpful and sorted a buggy and flexible starting time.
Ok
Alnmouth is a quaint village with beautiful scenery the club house itself lacked a little not much of a pro shop more cafe than club. Course was ok but played out quite close to each hole in which left a lot of confusion of who’s ball was who from different holes. And a road right through the centre of the course where we had to stop to let cars and pedestrians buy. Crazy Golf for adults.
Excellent for a quick knock
The course is a little gem, right on the coast,it’s not a challenging course but the greens are testing & in excellent condition
Lovely Course
A lovely links course in fantastic condition especially given all the bad weather we have had.
Sunday Tournament
We booked on Saturday for the crazy price of £22 each, gift at that, 3 hadn’t played before and they had a absolute blast… yes a odd puddle but it’s Feb and the weather we’ve had the course was absolutely perfect…. The 7th had them thinking this just can’t get any better…. Clubhouse was perfect before the game but unfortunately shut when we were done so no victory toast with a pint… we will be back for sure. Thanks to all👍🏻👍🏻
Great to play when all other courses closed
Ten of us played as our course was closed due to being waterlogged. Course had the occasional lying surface water which was to be expected. Greens not in usual immaculate condition due to maintenance, but that’s expected in February. Shame the clubhouse was was closed upon finishing so us and the other golfers behind us had to frequent the Red Lion. Sure you were very busy during the day though serving other golfers and walkers. Would def return as it’s a great course and does great food. Hoping for a small refund as one of the party is a greenkeeper but golf now will sort that. Great course
Fantastic location and course
Been many times .. never disappoints.. course in great condition .. greens amazing .. had full English breakfast in clubhouse which was great. Will be back again and again.
Fantastic course
Really enjoyed my first experience at this course. I will definitely be back 👍
Really enjoyed my round here. Played an early morning slot whilst away with family. Clubhouse doesn’t open till 9am but not a problem as had what I needed and garmin for recording score. (There may have been scorecards left out to pick up but didn’t see any).
7th hole (downhill par 4) an obvious highlight but all holes very good. Greens also in good condition and certainly fast enough.
Chatted with some members afterwards and all very friendly. Would definitely play again when back in the area.
Birthday golfthoroughly enjoyable
Thoroughly enjoyable but lots of distractions including people crossing and cars .you had to be very aware of the surroundings at all times but would happily play again.
Perfect start to the day
Loved this historic 9 holer. Played early on a cloudless morning in mid-July. Lovely links turf, greens in fantastic condition, friendly staff. Holes 4 through 7 were the highlight, with the approach to the 5th a particularly special spot. Played 9 for £25, and would very happily have done a second loop had time allowed.
Oldest Course we have played
1869 is the course age so incredible it’s here to still be enjoyed, 4th oldest club in England.
The course just off the village centre and runs around the coast of the North Sea.
Really pretty setting, superb greens which I would say were competition standard, fairways excellent too.
Wind was 20 mph so brisk but it made it a little more challenging. On the first 5 holes if you stray right you are on the beach and on the left of the course is punishing rough, plenty of room up the middle though so only punishes the most wayward shots.
I will 100% go again as it felt like a slice of history we were playing on.
A canny little course
A very nicely turned out nine hole course with some tricky holes.
