Lovely links course

Great links course - only 9 holes but easily merged in with players to make it 18 holes. First 4/5 holes quite tight with gorse and dunes lining the fairways . Last 3 fairly open .

Mild breeze meant that the course was not too challenging but I bet with higher winds off the sea it would be a real challenge.

Staff and other players very friendly .

Great little 9 hole links course

Really enjoyable round on a great little layout, lots of variety, elevation changes and interesting tee shots. Fantastic views over the beach at Warkworth and beyond.

Top tip - you need to book a tee time for both the 1st tee and 10th tee if playing 18 holes. This caused a bit of a delay in the middle of the round, but members seemed used to the issue and were helpful, we weren't in a rush in any case.

Definitely worth a visit!

Links

We got there 15 mins early no problem starting, but we're told to not play on the fairways , very odd , started playing looked around and yes players playing on the fairway , got further round the course same again , we we're then approached by 4 guys shouting keep off the fairway , obviously there were members , rule for members and a different one for visitors , I won't be going back or telling anyone to go there .

Warkworth top draw.

Brilliant winter course set up. Greens very quick and true for the time of year. The winter course has five par 3s at 200yds or over - very challenging.

We played on a chilly but windless day so the course was very playable - can imagine a bit of wind will make quite a difference.

Course manager very helpful - will definitely be back a few times over the next few months.

how to spend 50 quid and get nothing for it

booked to play the next day and unfortunately received a call that my mother had passed away. My booking could not be refunded even after 10 minutes because it was less than 24 hours away.. A complete rip off and heartbreak on top of heartbreak. FIX THIS IDIOTIC CONDITION

First round at Warkworth

A lovely links course with stunning views. As a first time visitor, the signage on the course between holes is poor, and the markers to aim for on dog legs could be clearer. A small amount of investment in signs would make a nice course even better!

Lovely little course

This is a lovely 9 hole course, but there are 2 sets of tees per hole - presenting a different challenge on the second nine if you choose to play 18 holes. You need to be straight on each hole, more important than length. And definitely avoid going right on each hole - most times you just wave 'goodbye' to your ball - ferns, tall grass etc. Greens were fast but true. Nice fairways, challenging with the borrows, slopes etc. And stunning coastal views throughout. And, it won't get flooded in the winter. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Clubhouse facilities basic but nice, no pro shop though. I will definitely play again, if not even join the club although currently full. We were lucky with the weather but I can imagine this course being a real test of golf if inclement, windy weather.

Terrible customer service/value for money

Booked a round assuming it was for 18 holes, as it’s advertised as an 18 hole course on GolfNow. We completed 9 and were informed by the jobsworth at the bar that we could not continue as we’d only paid for 9-holes. The last time I played this course it was £17.50 for a round so the natural assumption would be that the £20 paid for the round was for 18-holes. It appears not. Added to the dire customer service which which we were confronted with by the barman, was the fact that the greens had just been hollow tined, so we’re in a bad way. Definitely not worth the extortionate admission fee considering Course conditions.

Great way to lose repeat business.

No frills hidden gem

Friendly welcome. As a fader of the golf ball - hearing the steward say - "left is best - right is (guess a rhyming word!!) was a little worrying. He was correct but there was enough room to accommodate my left to right ball shape! Lovely 1st hole from an elevated fee and then 4 holes out and 4 holes back along the cliffs. Some lovely views. Conditions pretty good. Nice and dry underfoot and greens running nicely. 2 sets of tees available to add a little variety to the second time around. Nice little terrace to enjoy a sundowner (very reasonable prices!) watching other golfers play the 9th \18th. One to play it you're in the area.
