Great value and condition
Great course and long with a few par 5s. All holes play next to each other but this course doesn't feel it by the way its layed out. Only thing was the greens need to come on a bit, pat my in areas but the course was well worth, we will come back.
Good course
I played yesterday in horrific weather but the course held strong was expecting the ball to plug but stayed firm and actually had a decent bounce and run on fairways.
I couple of the greens did have some puddles but were minimal and didn’t affect my game! Overall good course and good experience
Value For Money
Had a great round at Newcastle United Golf Club. The course offers a variety of holes which make you think about how to play the hole. Certainly one of the better value for money courses in the area if booking a one off game / pay to play. Pace of play was great, no waiting around and the course was in decent condition - greens were quick.
Week day golfers
Well presented course quite hard but fair always look forward to a game amazing value for money
Avoid
Very poor condition on all parts of the course. Greens terrible, tees poor and fairways were average. Avoid.
Weekday golfers
The course is very well presented staff should be very proud of themselves
Greens may as well have been bunkers
I’ve played here a number of times. Mostly for the value for money get a solid round in. The course layout is pretty basic. Long holes, bumpy fairways. Not a huge amount to look at from the tee box. Most unfortunate part was the sanding of the greens. Over the 3 hours of my round every green was basically unplayable. May as well have been putting in a bunker. Not worth it for the price and no warning of it when I arrived to play. I understand it’s necessary but a heads up at the beginning of the round would have been helpful. Definitely made my round less enjoyable. Wasn’t worth the price on a quiet Monday morning to be honest. Which is unfortunate because I generally have enjoyed playing this course in the past.
Excellent value for money
Went to this course for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed my round. The staff are very friendly and point you in the right direction on arrival.
It had been pouring it down the day before and the course was in great condition considering this. Will definitely be coming back regularly and in particular during the summer because I imagine it will be even better when it's dry.
Great value for money, good practice area to use prior to your round.
The only issue I found was the pace of play, but I think that was more down to the individuals playing ahead of me rather than a fault of the course.
All in all was very happy and will definitely be coming back. Also very easy to get to by public transport.
Well laid out course. Minimal hazards. Great for beginners or an easy round, I enjoyed it, particularly the back 9.
The course was wet but all greens were in play and imagine pretty decent in the summer.
Play was very slow. A four ball in front should have let us through. The group behind us came close to hitting us on the fairway and on the green as they were so impatient, even though we obviously couldn’t move any faster!
I may return in the summer and give it another go as it is generally cheap.
The clubhouse was very friendly and nice to enjoy a drink in and the staff could not be more accommodating !
Good value for the money
ThThe course is a decent standard for a winter greens and I was disappointed to be placed in another group when I booked for a single round. The staff were friendly and the players were all beginners to mid-level. It’s a good place to practice and offers good value.
Cheap round
Course is ok if you want a cheap round local. Winter greens is basically a flag in the fairway. Didn’t get the putter out the bag once. Winter tees & general fairways in ok condition.
