The family-owned Mission Inn is one of Florida's friendliest and most value-forward resorts. With two golf courses, including the century-old El Campeon layout, it is an ideal setting for buddies trips and, at about 45 minutes from Orlando International Airport (MCO), remains convenient to reach from afar while removed from O-town's occasionally…
Known for having one of the largest practice facilities on the planet, Orange County National has a small but comfortable Lodge for overnight guests who want to hone their golf games from sunup to sundown. The muscular Crooked Cat and Panther Lake 18s are complemented by the 9-hole, executive-length Tooth Course.

From Ocala, it's no more than a 90-minute drive to the Gulf Coast, Atlantic Ocean or Orlando's theme parks but it's a much shorter trip to the 20 or so solid golf courses located in this north central Florida community.
Grown-ups can have a good time in the land of Mickey Mouse, too. Dozens of premier golf courses and luxurious resorts -- coupled with the nightlife of Downtown Disney, CityWalk at Universal Studios, and Orlando Magic games -- solidify Orlando as one of golf's most diverse destinations.
Just northwest of Orlando, Mission Inn Resort & Club's El Campeon was the top-rated course on Golf Advisor for the week of Dec. 14. View the complete top 10.
You sort of know what to expect with Mission Inn Resort & Club just north of Orlando. As their director of sales and marketing says unapologetically, "This isn't the Ritz-Carlton," so you might expect a pretty blue-collar resort. And that's true, to a point, until you realize that the clientele runs the gamut. There's something about this place that appeals to everyone. You can't underestimate the value of a personal touch. And you'll feel like you're part of that family when you're here.
Orlando's Dubsdread Golf Course dates back to 1924 and has hosted legendary golfers like Ben Hogan and Sam Snead. Today it serves as a welcoming, affordable muni just minutes from downtown. The Golf Channel's Matt Ginella and Charlie Rymer recently played Dubsdread and awarded the course an overall 4-out-of-5-star rating.
Matt Ginella spent time on site watching the transformation of municipal Winter Park C.C. in central Florida. View details of the project in this segment from #GCDesignWeek.
Before Arnold Palmer purchased Orlando's Bay Hill Club & Lodge, architect Dick Wilson laid out the course. Bradley S. Klein shines some light on Wilson's work at Bay Hill and beyond.
The New Course at Orlando's Grand Cypress Golf Club offers the closest thing to the Old Course at St. Andrews that many Americans will experience. The Jack Nicklaus design mimics the birthplace of golf, in particular with its feel for the game and enormous, shared fairways at the start and finish, Mike Bailey writes. Plus, there's Grand Cypress' Hell Bunker, the Valley of Sin and all the giant greens.
Following a re-design by Arnold Palmer Design Co., Shingle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Florida has opened with new greens, several new holes and renovated bunkers.
Shingle Creek Golf Club sits right in the middle of everything significant in Orlando. The prime location wouldn't impress, however, if it didn't deliver in other areas. For the past decade, it's done just that.
Tripp Davis and Tom Lehman are crafting one of the most unique short courses in America. Developers say the Trilogy at Ocala Preserve in Florida will play in at least a dozen configurations.
The Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate is hosting a tournament May 31 on their International Course, which will be under the knife all summer. The first 144 to register play free!
Rather than subject you to another list of "best new products" from the PGA Merchandise Show, I thought you'd get a kick out of seeing some of the worst.
We checked out the PGA Show last week in search of the good, the bad, and the downright strange from the realm of golf equipment, products and services.
Also known as "The Hills," Mission Inn Resort and Club's Las Colinas Course was designed by former PGA Tour player Gary Koch. Opened in 1992, the course contrasts with the resort's other course, El Campeon, which is actually hillier and opened in 1917. Las Colinas has six sets of tees and measures 7,230 yards from the tips. Spread out through a development, the course features large greens, plenty of water and sand, and thick trees guarding many of the fairways.
With the possible exception of exclusive Mountain Lake, there is nothing quite like the El Campeon Course at Mission Inn Resort & Club when it comes to golf in Florida. One of the hilliest courses in the state, El Campeon is also one of the oldest, dating back to 1917. Simply put, it has plenty of character with a finishing stretch among the toughest in central Florida.
Overlooking vineyards and Lake Apopka and Lake Siena, Bella Collina is positioned in a setting that more resembles Italy than central Florida. And it all starts with an enormous Tuscan-inspired clubhouse. The golf course befits the clubhouse with its elevated tees, wide fairways and rolling hills.
Narrow fairways and small greens bring the challenge at fun Dubsdread Golf Course, an Orlando-area muni that dates back to the 1920s and has hosted legendary players such as Ben Hogan, Sam Snead and Babe Zaharias.
The New Course at Grand Cypress Resort is Jack Nicklaus' tribute to the Old Course at St. Andrews, the birthplace of golf. While it's not a copy hole-for-hole, the feel of the golf course does indeed invoke the feel of the Old Course. Bring plenty of imagination and short-game skill, and you'll have a lot of fun.
Renovated and redesigned in 2016 by Arnold Palmer Design, see what's new at Orlando's Shingle Creek Golf Club near the Orange County Convention Center.
Located just a couple of minutes from International Drive and the Orange County Convention Center, Shingle Creek Golf Club is one of Orlando's most popular daily-fee and resort courses not only because of its location but also because of its beauty, playability and conditioning.
