The Cardinal by Pete Dye

This was my first time playing a Pete Dye course and the layout was amazing. Beautifully maintained course, only issue was a lack of sand in the bunkers. Bunkers were largely mud and clay. Greens were well maintained and play a bit fast. Fairways were also in great shape. Staff were friendly, pricing was fair. Overall I’d say the Cardinal is a great course for testing your meddle.

Fun challenging course, I thought it was very fair, but I was playing very well on the day. Course has some awesome holes! Loved 10, 11,12! I have had this course on my bucket list for two years now, and finally made the trip! Worth the drive, Pete Dye courses are my favorites. It not only tests the swing but the imagination., like all his courses. Greens were awesome, and I made a lot of clutch putts cause their fast and true. From t to green, this course is sweeeeeeeet! Fairways like carpet. My only complaint would be the bunkers, but they were still better than most courses and their are a lot of em in all shapes and sizes! Bring the A game and you will enjoy, loose stick, you may pull your hair out! Wished I lived closer!!! 78 on the day, with five birdies, my bunker game was still back in Charlotte. Those bunkers crushed me!

Course was in great shape and very playable. Was concerned it would be too difficult and that would take the fun out of it but it was very enjoyable. .

From check in to course conditions everything was great. You can’t expect anything better on this course, all the way from Tee to green. SUPERB!!

Had a great day. The group ahead was crazy slow but let us through at the turn. Course was the best I have ever seen it.

Layout and green are perfect bunkers do not have sand but clay I do not care much but if there are more sand it will be perfect

Second time playing the Cardinal, it's always a good test for any golfer. Greens are the biggest challenge due to speed and undulation. Not overly long due to dry conditions.

One of the nicest and more challenging courses in the area and worth the money. I played 18 hot deal for 28$ and other times 35$. Well worth over 50$ to play there. With courses in area costing 60-80$ to play it, it is definitely a gem in the area. Course is nicer and more of a challenge than the higher costing courses in the area. Would definitely recommend to anyone, especially the higher level players. And try it from the tips, a good challenge then.

The course is nice and the staff is great but the bunkers need more sand Dash too much dirt and clay

The course was amazing! Very tough layout with quick greens. You will not have a straight putt here. Greens were punched about a month ago but they were still very hard. I even had flop shots running out 10-15 ft. Overall this course was great and I will be back sooner rather than later. I’d love to see this course in prime condition!

They had been severely flooded by Mother Nature overnight. I really want to go back with my buddies. Great layout. Greens had been recently aerated so a little bumpy.

Even with the fairways browned out for winter and the greens just aerated, this is a fantastic course. Don't miss it. In a month it will be spectacularly beautiful.
