The par 71 features hole #12, touted as "the hardest par 3 I ever designed" by Pete Dye Photo submitted by u000003790453 on 09/20/2019
Rude staff
Staff was rude and unfriendly
Made my group feel uncomfortable
Ended up leaving and going to another course
Great layout
To me a below average golfer this is a wonderful challenge. Due to recent rains it was pretty wet but still a great place to play.
I would rate this as one of the best courses I have ever played and I have been luck enough to play several great courses.
A solid test
Definitely a Pete Dye course. Not easy but fair. Solid value. I enjoyed the greens and the different types of shots required.
Excellent track
The McConnell golf group is exceptional. The cardinal is a great layout that is very well kept. Every Fairway lie that I had was great. Bunkers could use a little more sand but that's my only critique. Greens are rolling smooth right now.
First time playing this course and it was a joy, only complaint is that had a problem with knowing where the next holes where located other than that it was a nice course and the pace was great. Looking forward to playing this course again.
Great Course
Just wish the holes were marked. No signs or markers on course. Arrows on cart path would help.
Awesome Course. Love Pete Dye Layouts
Start off by saying this is a super cool layout and very well kept up. Bravo to the soup and his/her staff. The cart boys are super nice and welcoming. The starter is pleasant and asked if you played here before and gave me a pointer on the opening tee shot. There was one staff member in particular who did carry a sense of impatience with us once he noticed we were Golfnow players. I get it, it’s a weird balance between the membership and public paying golfers and then Golfnow people like myself where the course doesn’t see any of that money when you book a hot deal. I just felt like he could care less about my questions or comments just wanted me out of his grill. He was just so rude and short with me I felt like a pee on. Other than that it was awesome. We got paired up with fellow Golfnow guys and we had a blast. So all in all I’d go back.
Very nice course
Greens had been punched but still rolled nice. Course was in great shape. Would definitely play again.
Good Course
It was my first time playing it and I think I would enjoy it more next time because it’s tough to play when your unsure of where you should hit it. Tight fairways on the front but opened up more on the back. The greens were great and quicker than other bent grass greens I’ve played. It’s not my favorite spot in Greensboro (Forest Oaks takes that claim) but definitely a really good course
