Blair Park Golf Course
About
Blair Park Golf Course is the one of High Point's two municipally owned courses. It's the older of the two, given as a gift to the city from the descendants of Solomon Blair. Originally constructed as a nine-hole course in 1931, a second nine was added in the late 1940s. Over the years the golf course has hosted many area championships and has become a favorite of local golfers. The golf course has a traditional layout with challenges that have withstood the test of time. Several creeks meander through Blair Park Golf Course, coming into play on more than half of the holes and the bunkering is minimal but strategic. The course is player friendly enough for beginners but low handicappers will enjoy the risk-reward opportunities where you can go for broke, though errant shots will be severely punished.

Great beginner course.
Lots of wide open fairways. Great course for a beginning golfer who has yet to master hitting the ball straight. In other words, it is very forgiving.
Not bad.
I played here Sunday February 23rd with a friend. We found out when we got there that our tee time had been triple booked by golf now. We started on 10 where there was no wait so it wasn't a big deal. Greens were average in speed, but they are all identical. They slope from back to front so it favors a run up shot. If you hit it hole high on most holes you will be left with a huge sweeping putt. Good layout just no variety in the greens.
Winter Golf Experience
Blair Park is a good public golf course, offering challenge, value, and a friendly staff. I played Blair Park as a single, with my wife riding for FREE as a non-golfer. Rachel and Doug were friendly pro shop staffers. Rachel provided a discounted green fee of $22, less than my online price. The tees and fairways, combined with light rough, were in good condition. The greens were excellent, very smooth and consistent. I played well for a high-handicapper, with the course being receptive to running shots. At the turn, we took advantage of the $3 grill coupon. We had a delicious grilled cheese sandwich and hot chocolate. Tammy and Grace were the friendly women behind the grill. Blair Park provides and overall excellent golf experience for a municipal facility. I would recommend Blair Park to friends and family. It is worth a return visit!
I played golf for 8 dollars how could it be anything but great I like blair park and ply it often
course is in good shape. we fought the leaves as it was windy. they had the blowers out but it was proving a tuff task. this happens in fall golf . we enjoyed the day. the staff was friendly as usual. I really enjoy playing at blair park
I enjoy playing here and consider it my home course!!!
nice course for a city course. not real long and greens are not that fast.
High Point Parks and Rec loves golf
I've played here twice. It's a really nice course, though it can be confusing for first-timers. My first time playing, I played 17 thinking it was 12. When I went back to fill in the missed holes, people thought I was jumping around. So be careful! Hole 12 is across the street in front of you, not to your side. This is made all the more confusing because both holes are par 3. Once you know the course, this isn't a problem.
If you're a walking golfer, bring your own pull cart or caddy. They used to have handcarts to rent, but they all got stolen or broken. I played my first round there carrying my bag (off of which the strap had fallen)!
Anyway, Sam Snead played this course occasionally. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me. But if you have a few more bucks to spare, definitely head up the road to Blair Park's sister course, Oak Hollow. It's a muni designed by Pete Dye. Much more challenging and well-groomed. Both courses are really good, but Oak Hollow is the one I play when I'm not completely broke.
Great city course - a bargain
For a city public course, Blair Park is a beautiful, well-maintained bargain.
Good, but has been much better in recent times
Quite simply, Blair Park has gone a bit downhill in my opinion in the past couple years. Some of the fairways had large weeds growing in them and weren't cut evenly. The greens at Blair Park are small so your ball striking better be on or you'll need a very good short game to get up and down a lot. The day I played the green speeds were very slow. I've played Blair Park when course conditions were much better than this. I was disappointed to see the course in this shape, but otherwise we had an enjoyable round.
Very challenging
Public course with lots of play. Still have "public course" look, but a great course none the less. Conditions were excellent.
Worst course in the Triad
A cordial staff makes the experience at the clubhouse enjoyable. After that it is downhill. $30 weekday pricing is somewhat reasonable until you tee off. The rough is just overgrown weeds, the fairway is just mowed weeds. Like most municipal courses the patrons don't know how to repair ball marks on the greens, however the marshal's also don't seem to know how to enforce decorum and the maintenance crew does not know how to maintain them.
It is a shame too, because the layout is wonderful and with proper maintenance the course would be a gem for the price, drawing in business from golfers attending the furniture market. But unfortunately the dilapidated course is in complete disrepair. Head up the road to Jamestown G.C. or to Oak Hollow for proper golf at equal price.
Very Enjoyable Day!
Great value for a saturday round at $15.50 and the greens were a little slow but rolled perfectly. Thanks Golfnow for the great day at such a great price.
Great for an afternoon round
Good layout, testing one's ability to play consistent golf. Most of the par 5's are reachable in 2. Greens were in good condition.
The course needs attention
Course needs much attention.
Fairways were cut way to high, very few distance markers and for some reason, they had way too many snakes on this course.
