Blair Park Golf Course
About
Blair Park Golf Course is the one of High Point's two municipally owned courses. It's the older of the two, given as a gift to the city from the descendants of Solomon Blair. Originally constructed as a nine-hole course in 1931, a second nine was added in the late 1940s. Over the years the golf course has hosted many area championships and has become a favorite of local golfers. The golf course has a traditional layout with challenges that have withstood the test of time. Several creeks meander through Blair Park Golf Course, coming into play on more than half of the holes and the bunkering is minimal but strategic. The course is player friendly enough for beginners but low handicappers will enjoy the risk-reward opportunities where you can go for broke, though errant shots will be severely punished.

One of the worst courses I have ever played please read all of this
This course was awful. From the moment I arrived I was greeted with grunts and "uhm" from the pro shop attendant who, when I was finished paying, handed me the keys for my cart. Ok no big deal I though, I'll go tell the starter what number cart I am. THERE IS NO STARTER! What? A golf course that didn't have a starter? Getting out to play was an absolute nightmare and there was not one person to help coordinate. I was playing alone and the group of three in front of me was nice enough to let me play in front of them. By the second hole I could see why it was cart path only. There were huge puddles of water in the middle of the fairway! The worst drainage system I have ever seen, hands down. I get to the third hole and theres a group of about 10 teenagers who are walking across the fairway! I might point out how bad the neighborhood is around the course. On the eighth hole I drove about 10 feet on to the fairway and had the only ranger on the course come over yelling about keeping the cart on the path. My cart being 10 feet in the fairway was more important than the group of hoodlem kids who were just walking around the course! Finding the holes is a pain and I couldn't find the 9th hole so after that I called it quits. I got up to the cart area and by that time the group of kids were walking up the first tee, a police car turned up and yelling ensued. I just left never to return. $20 for 18 holes with a cart is a deal but honestly you get much less than you pay for. Oak hollow is the other public course and I wrote them a 5 star review 3 days ago. It's something like $10 more but 100% worth it. DO NOT PLAY HERE!!!
Great course for the money
Great older urban course but in good condition. Staff was really helpful. An overall top notch golf experience!!
Fun course !
Fun course will go back. Food is low rating only because I didn't have any to rate. Had 2 slow walkers jammed us up a bit but for past them. Front 9 is forgiving, 9 nine is a little harder. Really like this place, hoping to find a hot deal again to go back.
Staff
Course was in pretty decent shape. Would be nice to have yardage markers out there.. Biggest draw back was the unbelievably rude staff they have employed.
Great condition!!!!!
Course is always in great condition. One of the only courses in the area that had no winter kill!!!
Good value course
This is the best bang for the buck course I've played
Great for the money but pace of play awful
The rangers really should do a better job of encouraging faster play.
Great Saturday afternoon
My husband and I enjoy playing this course. The "hot deals" are the best. The course was in very good conditions for a city course. The ranger on duty that day was very friendly, accommodating to our needs, and did a great job. We will definitely play this course many more time.
Better than a Driving Range
For the money it was OK. Greens were beat due to poor golf etiquette.
Very Enjoyable
Course is in very good condition, especially compared to other neighboring courses. Greens did not look great because of players not repairing their ball marks but ran very true in spite of player neglect. Fairways and rough are very playable.
WOW PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!!
OK First things first. I have played this course many times over the years and normally when it comes to the High Point courses Oak Hollow is the one that tends to be in better shape and gets better treatment. This year however so many courses locally have suffered from a rough winter. We decided to take a chance on a great hot deal for friday the 3rd and got rained out. We were on the first green and it was under 2 inches of running water when they decided to close the course. That said we were pleasantly surprised at the amount of bright green grass in the fairway so we decided to book another hot deal for Sunday the 5th. First we were amazed at how well the course had drained in just a day and a half. They had at least 2 inches of rain on Friday and yet the course was in great shape. There was grass in the fairways and it wasn't mud or brown. We play every week locally and these fairways were the best ones we have seen so far this year and that includes the expensive courses in the area. The greens were also in perfect shape. There was a couple of holes that the greens had some rough spots on them but I think that was mainly due to the location of the greens rather than a lack of maintenance or care. We have a wonderful time playing. The staff was very friendly and to our amazement we finished our round in just over 3 and a half hours. We were so pleased with the course that we went back today and played (July 11th) and once again course was in great shape, friendly staff and a 4 hour round. We will definitely be coming back often. If you haven't played Blair Park because of what old reviews said or if you haven't played it in a long time go back, you wont be disappointed. So glad they finally gave this course some TLC. Even though the course was rained out on the afternoon of the 3rd when we went back on the 5th they had even raked all of the bunkers. To say we were impressed with Blair Park would be an understatement.
My go to course
Just a great value. Carts are a little slow. Fun course
Good conditions compared to other local courses
I've played 4 or 5 different courses in the Triad area so far this golf season, and unfortunately their fairways had all experienced WinterKill. We decided to try Blair Park based on a couple of positive recent reviews on GolfNow, and we were so happy with the course conditions! There may have been a rough patch here and there, but overall the fairways were in good shape. On the other courses I've played recently I was consistently picking up my ball and moving it to a patch of grass so I didn't have to hit off of a dirt patch. I didn't have to do that once at Blair Park. Same for the greens; there were a couple of rough spots, but good overall. Not to mention we played for $18 per person on a Sunday...can't beat that! The only thing that was a tiny bit annoying was having to wait on a few tee boxes and approach shots, but there were a ton of people there and it was a Sunday, so that was to be expected. Plus, course rangers were all over the place making sure people were keeping up the pace, so that was good to see.
If you're like me, and you just want to play some golf on a course that is actually in good shape, go play Blair Park! I will definitely be back soon!
Great fairways!!!
Here in NC, the majority's the local courses are not in very good shape. The tee boxes and fairways are suffering.I was very surprised at how green and lush the fairways were at Blair Park, the greens were also soft and receptive. This course was in better shape than some of the well known local courses.Great job guys!!
Fun little muni
This was my first time playing Blair Park. It isn't a long course but requires some creative course management and was a fun afternoon of golf. Great value.
Good Weekday Spot
Played on a Wednesday and basically had the course to myself. I've played here multiple times. This was the best shape I have seen it in. Fairways were in decent shape especially for this area. Greens were ok, slower. But for a weekday round you cannot beat the pace of play and the value.
Good course
Fun course to play. Not extremely challenging but has enough character and trouble spots to keep you honest.
Good For WEEKDAY ROUND
decent public municipal course that offers "good weekday round" at an EXCELLENT VALUE (price)
