Oak Hollow Golf Course
About
Oak Hollow Golf Course is one of two municipally owned golf courses in High Point, N.C. This Pete Dye design is the newer and more popular of the two. The layout features several Dye signatures including pot bunkers and railroad ties but it's the small, undulating greens that are the most recognizable Dye trademark. The golf course has an interesting mix of holes, including several risk-reward opportunities. It's a course that will make you think, rewarding strategy and accuracy over might. The signature hole is the par-4 sixth. This 420-yard hole wraps around a lake with an island tee at the tips that will test the brave. Oak Hollow's toughest hole, though, is the 437-yard 11th, also a par 4. You'll need a perfectly placed tee shot and then after you're met with a triple-tiered green that sits along the water's edge.

Tough course
Cold windy day didn't help with wind off the lake. True winter golf. 2nd time playing there. No real complaints as far as course conditions, greens, staff, driving range, etc. Actually, really good for the money for sure. EXCEPT, don't kid yourself and expect to go low. Very challenging, even from the whites. At times, many times, too long. Big elevation changes, long demanding drives at times, blind tee shots, par at times feels like a win. 13 hdcp was trying to break 100...and didn't.
Will not return and will not allow friends a d family to return
So I’ve been to this course plenty of times the last 34 times I’ve been there. I’ve had very poor and bad experience due to the fact of employees and lawn care men past two times. I’ve been there lawn care men have sat in front of me and other golfers and would not let us golf multiple and multiple on multiple holes Would go right in front of you sit and wait and then there’s the last time that happens again, so I go back and replay the holes that I did not get to play and as I’m playing through at the starter or the Ranger comes up to me hostile hostile could be telling me I needed to leave And I responded in the same attitude. Hostile back. Bring the cart back up there as I’m coming back up there. He’s staring me down mean bugging me when I get back up there to hand the car over both of them have something to say to me so I repair and fire back. There was no good words. Neither of us said maybe very poor wordage as I’m trying to explain that the lawn care men we’re not being etiquette the employees return fire with negative thing saying I wasn’t allowed to return if I would’ve gone by the rules and when I say that they should get their employees under check, they tell me to call the Pro shop I will be leaving another review on their website and I will be contacting the pro shop tomorrow about the negligence from the employees and I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau do the fact that it has been several times so therefore I will not be returning and none of my friends and family will return and we go on a regular basis poor greens and poor tea boxes
Great day in December
Wow! Hadn't been there in over 6 months and wasn't disappointed. Outstanding greens and fairways. The tee boxes were a tad beat up but was able to accommodate none the less. Bermuda rough was treacherous. Make sure you hit the fairways. All in all, a great round. Can't wait to return.
Wonderful course!
I played the course when I was in sixth grade and it was not very nice. Two years later and it is one of the best golf courses in the Piedmont. Very unique layout, great views of the lake, staff is nice, and the best of all it is only $28 to play at 11 on a Sunday. It’s gotta be one of the best value courses in North Carolina. If you are around Greensboro you must check this course out!
Amazing Pete Dye Gem
Great public Pete Dye design. Affordable and approachable. One of my fave courses in the US for under $50.
Best public course I have ever played.
Fantastic course with magnificent scenery and course layout.
Long par 4s and 5s provide challenges to any and all players. If you are ever in the NC Triad make plans to play Oak Hollow.
