About
Oak Hollow Golf Course is one of two municipally owned golf courses in High Point, N.C. This Pete Dye design is the newer and more popular of the two. The layout features several Dye signatures including pot bunkers and railroad ties but it's the small, undulating greens that are the most recognizable Dye trademark. The golf course has an interesting mix of holes, including several risk-reward opportunities. It's a course that will make you think, rewarding strategy and accuracy over might. The signature hole is the par-4 sixth. This 420-yard hole wraps around a lake with an island tee at the tips that will test the brave. Oak Hollow's toughest hole, though, is the 437-yard 11th, also a par 4. You'll need a perfectly placed tee shot and then after you're met with a triple-tiered green that sits along the water's edge.

Best public course I have ever played.
Fantastic course with magnificent scenery and course layout.
Long par 4s and 5s provide challenges to any and all players. If you are ever in the NC Triad make plans to play Oak Hollow.
WORST PACE OF pLAY
It took us 2.5 hours to play 9 holes. there were 3 groups on every hole with some having 4 groups. Back nine was wide open but they were not letting people start on the back. Just stacking group after group. Slow play was not being enforced by the ranger. Just told us get ready for a long wait on every hole
Don't play for a few weeks
Greens have been punched and not enough sand put on after so they are really poor. Should have been offered a reduced rate.
Scenic and challenging
My first taste of Oak Hollow was satisfying. The course offered good home variety with water and traps, hilly and ample fairways and scenic water views. Staff was friendly and course layout was easy to follow. My only complaint were the greens. Some looked trampled while others were super thin and overall made putting a guessing game. Despite this fact, I am sure to return soon

Great course Great Value
I play here a couple times each year and it never lets me down! I really enjoy playing here and the course was in great shape. I love the snack bar and the staff is always so friendly. I order an egg salad sandwich which is homemade and delicious with their crinkle cut fries! This a hidden gem.
Had a good round
Oak Hollow is a nice but challenging course. My group had a blast and everyone on the course was nice. Staff was very helpful. Great views of the lake on some of the holes. Overall would recommend that anyone play at Oak Hollow.

The course was in great shape and the pace of play was good. Can’t ask for anything more to make me come back!
Small changes could make a difference
This was the 3rd time I played this course. We played from the 'mixed' tees. My handicap is 13. Pace of play could be improved to make it a better experience. If your going to start groups every 9 minutes, then have the Ranger move slow players along. We waited on every tee after the first hole, an average of about 7-8 minutes. (Fortunately it was a nice day weather wise). Greens and fairways were in great shape. The greens rolled well, but you really had to go after each putt to get it close to the pin. Note: there are a few tee boxes where it's prudent to ride up the fairway to make sure the group in front has cleared. The location with water views is special, and makes for some fun shots with risk/reward a gamble. We'll be back.
