Emerald Lake Golf Club
About
Emerald Lake Golf Club is one of the Charlotte area's most popular public courses. True to its name, water is a prominent feature on the golf course. It's not just the water hazards that make this a tough course though. You'll be faced with strategically placed bunkers, sloped greens, and fairways tightly lined with trees. The golf course starts out gentle enough but by the time you get to the third hole, you'll be tested with a hole that plays right into the prevailing wind. This long narrow par 4 is one of the toughest holes Emerald Lake Golf Club has to offer. You'll get a brief break with the fourth hole, but the following par 5 is the signature hole. This risk-reward hole could result in a birdie if you play it smart, but if you go for the green in two and don't make it, you might be punished with a bogey

Surprised with the course condition
I was surprised to see the condition this course is in. The green keepers are doing an awesome job. Great value for money, I will definitely play here again.
Great course
Don't let the trailer clubhouse fool you, course is great and greens are in very solid condition... $20 after 3 o'clock is a great value for this course... Very fun layout
Nice course
Had a great day and fun at this course. In good shape except for some area of repair. Great value thru Golfnow and would highly recommend Emerald Lakes to play and Golfnow.com for great values.
Great value
I paid $18.00 for 18 holes. Course is greening up nicely.
Nice place
Good variety of holes . Tight and open . Long and short . Easy and challenging . Nice greens .
Emerald lake I s a gem
Played Emerald Lake for the first time. Nice fellow in pro shop. He was friendly and I felt he meant it when he welcomed me.
Overall it was a very enjoyable experience. I will be going back soon.
course to play in Charlotte
They resoding tee boxes other than that course in great shape so if you have group that you play with take them to emerald lake.
Good course
It's always a little packed but I guess that means it's popular. Currently doing alot of tee box turf repair so normal distances are off, but should be great by early summer.
Good course for value
The course is nice and a fun layout. The greens are nice and true. The bunkers are nice but a little inconsistent. Fluffy sand in one and more clay in others. It is a well managed course. The fairways were nice. There is work going on to improve the course and facilities since clubhouse burned down. A few tee boxes are being sodded so there are three temporary tee boxes. Course should look really nice in a couple months.
great value
They were re-doing and watering 3 tee boxes, otherwise the rating would have been a little higher. Once that's done this course will be great.
Overall satisfied.
Course is challenging enough. I dont think its worth the full $55 if you dont book on GolfNow or something but overall i liked this place.
Enjoyable Round
As a bogey golfer at best, I played from the white tees and from there it is a fair challenge for a player of my level. There are an adequate amount of traps and water hazards. While it is a wooded course, generally a ball that isn't too far astray can be found and played out safely. Areas around the meandering creeks are not as forgiving. Usually, you can kiss those balls goodbye. Greens are in good shape but can be challenging. A fair test.
Great Value
This is a great course for the $$. Fairways and greens are in very nice shape. The driving range is under renovation but still can be used. I booked a late afternoon tee time and got 18 holes done before dark.
Best deal in Charlotte area
Emerald Lake is the best value in the Charlotte area. Staff was great. Played in the rain which resulted in some slow play, but the course help up well. Only wish the clubhouse was rebuilt.
Great course
This course was phenomenal. It was my first time playing the course and for the price it was well worth it! The course wasn't too easy, but it also wasn't too hard. It is definitely a course I'll be playing again and I highly recommend it to anyone!
Undergoing Major Repairs
While I've enjoyed Emerald Lake in the past, right now it's in very poor condition. I'm hopeful that the repairs currently taking place will improve the course. Greens undergoing aeration and numerous ground under repair spots. Piles of uprooted trees abound. And none of this info was mentioned when I booked. It will be some time before I try it again
Love the layout of this course.
Course was wet, greens were sanded and punched.
But it's the time of year to do it,so it didn't bother me.
Very disappointed
The fairways were extremely wet more like flooded. We had rain a few days prior to our tee time. I knew it would be cart path only, but seems as the course has no drainage. Here is another course OFF my list to play. Play was slow.
Course in bad shape, good price
Got on the course for a great price but it's in bad shape to start the season. I'd give it a month or so before the crew can correct the problems. Some areas were just unplayable.
