About
Emerald Lake Golf Club is one of the Charlotte area's most popular public courses. True to its name, water is a prominent feature on the golf course. It's not just the water hazards that make this a tough course though. You'll be faced with strategically placed bunkers, sloped greens, and fairways tightly lined with trees. The golf course starts out gentle enough but by the time you get to the third hole, you'll be tested with a hole that plays right into the prevailing wind. This long narrow par 4 is one of the toughest holes Emerald Lake Golf Club has to offer. You'll get a brief break with the fourth hole, but the following par 5 is the signature hole. This risk-reward hole could result in a birdie if you play it smart, but if you go for the green in two and don't make it, you might be punished with a bogey

Great Course and Great Value
Played the course for the first time. Excellent experience and I would definately recommend this course. Great layout and greens rolled true.

Course has come around....
The course has come around. In reading early reviews, it seemed that the course was in poor shape. Indeed, the weather has much to do with it. The course can still get better, and the greens were not as they should be. I can tell you that the layout is spectacular. Fun day!!

Dry now
This course is finally dried up. I’d say value wise it’s near the top of the list when it’s in prime shape. Aeration done a few weeks ago so that should ripe up her greens nicely.

Emerald Lake
Although the driving range looks good as far as the targets the grass is nothing to exist. Nothing but dirt. Greens are horrible and I have a van or six times I’ve played here. Fairways have finally started to grow grass instead of mold. Probably my last time here.

Easter Sunday
Course reversed 9s since my previous round a couple of months ago, and my GPS still had the old hole order so I was mixed up. Lots of rain lately, so conditions were sub-optimal, with cart path only, limited mowing, and recently plugged/sanded greens. I plugged shots in several fairways due to soft conditions. Tee boxes had either sparse grass, or had not been mowed. Greens were generally OK despite the recent plugging/sanding. Driving range had limited grass. Sand traps were generally pretty good, especially for the amount of rain we've had.
I like this track, it is always enjoyable and the course is somewhat at the mercy of Mother Nature this time of year. i'll come back, and hope they will get an opportunity to get conditions under control.

Course Review
Pretty disappointed in the maintenance of this course. Weeds and un mowed tee boxes on almost all holes. I’ve never seen so many weeds in my life in a course. Pretty disappointed on what my group expected. Needs a lot of work or this course is going downhill fast. Not to mention all good carts are beat to s***. Still running on gas power. Feel like there not replacing to get every penny back into there “clubhouse”

Good Course
Course was fun to play, and I enjoyed myself. Good layout, staff was friendly and made you feel welcome. Good driving range and facilities.

Poor Conditions
The entire course was a muddy mess. Every where I stepped on the course this afternoon, I was stepping in mud or water. The course should have been closed today due to its condition.

Poor group
They had a group holding up the whole course. A group of 5 was 2 holes ahead of them. Otherwise a good day for golf. The greens were plugged and made it difficult but still had fun.

Needs better drainage.
Nice layout, course needs better drainage and more/better golf carts.
Course
The greens were aerated over a week ago and were in poor shape. The fairways were unkept the pace of play was terrible. It a good value for the $$.

Sloshy Day
It was a sloshy day when I went. Layout was great, greens seemed to be a little overmowned, however still putted true.
I wish these courses would keep winter rates longer. The courses are just not in good enough condition to warrant full price until like May at the earliest.
Get yourself a hot deal for around 20 bucks and then it may be worth it

Conditions are terrible
It seems as if the course stopped carrying about the conditions. Course was brutal with mud in the fairways. Staff said nothing besides cart path only. Just awful!
