Best Value in Charlotte

Greens are the best in the area. For the price, you will not find a better deal in the greater Charlotte area. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Pace of play is great also. One of the few places in the country that has a PGA Master Professional on staff. Go play.

Great course

My only complaint was that the first cut of rough was too thick. Greens were in beautiful condition. We were a little late for our tee time, but that was no problem. Fairways were beautiful. i had a Golf Now coupon which made out greens fee much cheaper.

Other courses in the are have had trouble with their greens. This course was in great condition. The small greens on the front maje it fun and challenging.

Lawn Maintenance were rude

The only complaint I have is the mowing crew did not exhibit any courtesy when in close proximity to golfers. I did address it to the clubhouse and was given a complimentary round of golf. I truly believe one of the maintenance personnel was being inconsiderate on purpose, because he approached a green that we were on while on the tractor and whistling at the same time.

Well Mantained

Even after 4+ inches of rain the course was in great shape. The greens, fairways and tee boxes were well taken care of. The course is wide open-- you shouldn't lose a ball!! Only negative comment that I could make is that they were allowing 5somes and 6somes to play. We saw at least 3 5somes and one 6some. We played on a Saturday and didn't expect to see it. Well worth the $ and the 2 hour trip there!!

Stay Away From This One

I’ve played Monroe Country Club four or five times and each of the previous rounds has been very enjoyable. The exception was today. We had a foursome and teed off at 9:20. From the 8th hole on we had a ranger monitoring us on EVERY SINGLE HOLE. He complained that there were two holes open in front of us. Well duh! From 8:58am till we teed off at 9:20 nobody teed off ahead of us so, yeah, there were two open holes ahead of us. Then when we finished the front nine, don’t know who it was, but he told us we were 20 minutes behind. Really? The last few rounds I’ve played there have been completed in 4:15 and I’ve never been warned by a marshal for slow play.

Then on the back nine we had a marshal still with us timing us on each hole. Bottom line is we finished the round in 4 hours and 10 minutes, which to me is about the norm. Now according to "their rules" you pretty much have to finish 18 holes in 3 hours and 40 minutes. Now really, don’t most people work all week to go out and have an enjoyable round of golf? With this kind of treatment to players it is ANYTHING BUT ENJOYABLE. It was the first time the three other players in my group had ever played your course, and judging by what they said at the end, it will be their last. Mine too.

If the 3 hour and 40 minute time is what they demand for 18 holes then turn the thing private because I don’t know too many golfers who want to have to hurry through their round.

Thank you for your comment. At Monroe Country Club they encourage a 3 hr and 45 minute 18 hole pace of play. This helps provide a more enjoyable experience for everyone playing. This is the only course in the area that has a starter/ranger everyday all day to help provide an enjoyable experience for all customers. Please give Monroe CC another try.

If you are a 5-9 handicap you should be able to finish a round of golf in under 4 hours with nobody in front of you., especially at an easier course like this.

Only course in the Charlotte area that has starter/rangers everyday which is great. Their pace of play policy is what every course should have. Most weekend rounds take 5 hours on a weekend but not at Monroe CC. Best value in the Charlotte area.

Great course

Monroe CC is one of my favorite golf courses in our area. Tee to green was great. Greens are some of the fastest I've played. My only complaint is the pace of play. 4.5+ hours in this heat is ridiculous. The foursome in front of our group had the whole course backed up due to their slow play around the green. I noticed several Rangers on the course but never saw them ask the group to play faster.

Pure

So pure. Club championship day so slower play was expected (4 hours 5 mins for 3some) but it opened up on back 9. Greens lightning quick and true. Every inch of the course was in pristine condition.

First time playing this course. Will definitely be back! Maybe next time it won't be quite as hot. The front nine will remind you somewhat of Pinehurst #2 with the elevated greens, which by the way were in terrific condition. Fast but true. Overall a good experience on a great track! Worth the drive from Fort Mill. You should give this course a try!

Deepening friendship

I wanted to meet with an acquaintance and work toward developing a closer friendship. I thought a round of golf would be a great idea. He recommended Monroe Country Club and I had never been there. We received an awesome discount and great price for the 18 holes of golf. As a result of the pace of play and the difficulty of the course I feel our friendship has grown and look forward to future rounds of golf together.

Great

Been here twice. My partner and I enjoyed the course. What we liked about . The putting greens were in great shape. The landscape was taken care of, plus when you do tend to hit your balks into the woods, it's not all that difficult locating the ball.

Great Value/Great Course

Played as a single and was teamed up with 3 others. Great group and great round. Course was in very good shape. Fairways pure, greens rolled true. Small greens with run offs so make sure your irons into the greens are on target. Will certainly return to play this course!
