River Ridge Golf Club

Played this course while en route to Raleigh Durham Airport from the coast. Undulating ground and tight fairways make this a challenging track, and the shaping of the greens adds some real difficulty to the putting.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, and would play again if ever in the area. The best value for money I've found in NC.

The course was fantastic. Some of the best greens I’ve played in the area. Rolled true. We’re nice and fast, but also receptive. Layout was fun and challenging. Will definitely be back.

A player was not compatible with other players, He enjoyed cigarettes. He didn't care others and his attitudes was not good. Playing was hard time with him.

Played blue tees with my son and enjoyed the course so much we played 27 holes. Course was in very good shape. From tee boxes to fairway and greens all in great shape for early spring. Greens are fun to play and roll true and fast if putt is downhill. First time playing here and we will be back. It is worth a day of your time to check it out. Layout is fun. Shot making is required.

Though it is winter conditions, the course is so nice, greens role true. Can’t wait to play this course as our conditions change to spring.

Booked a tee time in hopes of being able to play 18. Showed up a little earlier to enjoy the free range balls they provide. I noticed as soon as I got to the range that they had multiple groups still waiting to tee off. Figured it wasn’t a big deal considering it was a Sunday. Wrong ! Had to wait an additional 45 minuets to tee off because they somehow don’t have enough carts. I gave up after the 3 hours , to play nine holes... I would advise NOT playing on a Sunday.

Greens roll true. Layout is pretty nice, but challenging. Still waiting for the Bermuda to come alive but fairways weren’t as bare as some others in the area

Great course. Great shape. One of the best in the area without being private.

First the good. The course layout is nice and was in good condition. But other than that it was worst day of golf ever. I can’t comprehend why they would book so many groups out and on top of that let a group of 5/9 play while completely drunk and ruin the round for everyone else on the course. While the first 9 was slow things really got bad after the turn. After a stop in the clubhouse for hotdogs and restroom we waited 30 minutes with several other groups to tee off on number 10. I saw 4-5 foursomes quit or go back to the front at various points during the back nine. Thing got so bad that this group played with 9 people the final 3-4 holes and left beer cans everywhere. In total, I like the course, it’s close to my house and I was actually thinking about joining. Today was a weekend afternoon test run and not a good experience. Honesty not sure if I will ever go back if that’s how they run the place.

I would give a 4.5 but we can't so a half point off for pace of play and conditions. My guess is that in Aprll when the grass is all green it is a great course to play.

I played as a single and finished in 3 hrs. 38 mins (it took a bit longer because on the back nine I caught up to a threesome and foresome in front of me (these guys did not have the best golf etiquette since they did not let me play through but I decided just to hit 2 or 3 balls).

Pace of Play - The only place it really backed up not because I was a single but because of course layout was on holes 15, 16, and 17. The layout is par 3, par 4, par 3. And the 17th Par three is all carry and hazard on both sides so guys in front were looking for their balls, etc. I was wondering how 15, 16, 17 bottlenecks on a busy weekend when the weather is perfect since it clearly slowed the pace of play on a quiet Monday.

The variety of holes was great. Some doglegs, elevation changes, uphill and downhill lies in the fairways. And the greens were in great shape and had interesting slopes.

It is also semi-private so the range balls were included and they had a nice snack bar/grill.

The staff was very friendly and gave me important information (like you'll see a tee box on your left when you finish the first hole but that is 17 so you need to go across the street to get to the second hole). Also, excellent signage on course so you couldn't get lost.

Side note: The posted fee on the course website was $40 but I got a great deal at $26 (18 holes, cart, range balls) with a GolfNow Hot Deal.

We made a reservation on Thursday to play Saturday through golf now. I had my conformation email from golf now but when we got to the course they had no record of it and they had someone else in our scheduled tee time. They worked us in but it but us behind schedule and was very inconvenient. The course said it had been happening all day.

Weather turned out to be excellent. Course is in great shape for this time of year with all the rain. Only 6th hole was cart path. Greens in great shape. Bermuda fairways and rough still dormant but did not affect playability. Challenging holes with variety, excellent test of all your shots. Range balls included is a bonus. Will definitely be back
