The centuries-old tradition of using llamas to help humans carry packs has been revived with a new twist at Talamore. Beautiful course and friendly staff!

It has been at least 15 years since I last played Talamore, and I was excited to return, and my excitement paid off. The course was serene and stunning, and it was in as good of shape as any I've played. The houses aren't intrusive, and the pine trees give it a feel of privacy and beauty You can tell the course gets a lot of play with the remnants of ball marks all over the greens, but they were mostly cleaned up nicely, and the greens were hard and fast with a lot of breaking putts. Make sure you leave your ball below the hole, or you might do what we did a couple of times and putt it right off the surface. The staff was very, very friendly, including the pro shop, main bartender, the halfway house, and starter (who had stories to tell). The valet was a bit rushed, but reasonable. Maintenance staff was visible (and playable) working on bunkers on a few holes, but that's expected for a Thursday. Pace of play was great. As a threesome, we had no waiting at all and no one pushing us. Make sure you check out the llamas - Talamore's signature - on hole 14.
