Talamore Golf Resort

Talamore is a great track and in great shape however, things have gotten out of control with the pace of play. Today’s round took 6 hours to complete!!! You could say it was because carts were on path only, or the frost delay caused a shotgun start, or even because there was a tournament going on, but none of those things were the reason. I personally saw the foursome that held everything up. There were AT LEAST two open holes in front of them. We had a second foursome in our group but things were so slow they left after 9 holes. I spoke to the ranger who responded with a nonsensical answer that did address why play was so slow.

If you are wanting to play a great course, have a lot of time to kill, and don’t mind having to cancel dinner plans, Talamore is the place for you. Conversely, if you are a golfer who values your time and doesn’t have 6 hours to spend on the golf course, you may want to look elsewhere.

Everything is great except for the range...very thin with not much grass to hit off. But that's common for this time of year. Speedy greens!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Got us checked in, down to the range, told us the greens were cut and rolled. Course was in amazing shape. We had the place to ourselves. Played in 3.5 hours. Sunny and 55 little bit of wind. Going back soon.

I cannot wait to go back and play this course again. Amazing resort quality conditions at a fair price. Friendly staff. Pace of play was wonderful until last 6 holes when a group of seniors backed everyone up. No ranger in site but considering time of year and weather conditions I suppose that was to be expected.

I doubt you will find a better course at a price this good! Even though there has been a lot of rain recently the course was in great shape. Greens roll smooth and true. Layout is great with a lot of variety. Not much water which is nice too! Will definitely be playing again!

Really love this course. Excellent value for the money. Great layout. Challenging, but not brutal. Fast true greens. Spacious tee boxes which are important to navigate the angles on the many doglegs. Possibly the finest bunkers I’ve ever played out of. Perfect sand. Not too thick or too thin. Nice spacious clubhouse with fabulous hand made bloody marys at the bar. We drove an hour from Durham but it was WELL worth it.

Great course and value for the cost. Friendly staff and we will be back

It is everything you want in a golf course that allows a variety of playing strategies from tee to green. Referring to the same tee box that is.

Varying elevations , undulating fairways and super fast Bermuda greens that are bottle-green in color as opposed to their lush green counterpart bent-grass (also thriving on other courses of choice esp. in the Raleigh area) are quite a pleasure to contend with .

Excellent course. Even with it being winter and a lot of the grass going dormant for the season and rain the day prior the conditions were excellent. The greens are superb. They’re quite difficult but in excellent shape and a lot of fun to play.

The course is in great condition even when it was raining the day before. fairways are nice and the greens are better. layout is somewhat challenge and fair. Crews are

super nice. The pace is a bit slow but it is a nice Saturday, so everybody is enjoying the course.

great course and great staff. Need to have one of the many marshals monitor pace of play. Guys in front of us spend way too long looking for lost balls. A 4 hour round turned into 4.5.
