Course Under Repair
Three of nine holes on the back nine were under repair. The course needed maintenance throughout, although there has been a lot of rain in the area. The fairways were grassy and greens unpredictable. We were not told up front that a large portion of the back nine is under repair. I did not enjoy this course. Bad shape for the price and area golf.
Needs reconditioning
Friendly staff, great pace of weekday morning play, and cheap. But.... the course is in rough shape. Significant bare spots in the first cut of rough on many holes, and even on some of the fairways. Three holes were under major repair (10, 11, 18) and cut down to par 3s, so the back is par 31 right now. Design is forgiving for a high handicap working on parts of their game, like I was. It wouldn't be a challenge for say a 9 hcp. Not a lot of sand, water is found on most par 3s. No map of the course on the scorecard needs to be fixed.

No $$ for Aeration and massive course repairs on 3 holes
Course has 3 holes under major RECONSTRUCTION, and fairways and greens were aerated BUT $$$ was not discounted...cartpaths are Pitiful.

Not Finished Improving
16 of 18 holes are great and a lot of fun to play! All of the greens are nice and are miles better than they were a year or two ago. If you haven’t played Wendell CC in a while you’ll be delighted with the greens.
What they don’t warn you about is the turn....
They’ve cut down a lot of trees recently and that equipment has torn up the fairways on hole 10 and 11, so instead of warning you before you book they put a white board out by the tee box and turned a par 5 into a par 3. If I was warned about it before I booked or even before I teed of on #1 I wouldn’t be too upset about it.

Great Course for newer Golfers
I have played here a dozen or so times, and the staff has always been great! Course is rarely busy, perfect for newer golfers not wanting to be rushed. Front 9 is wide open with a couple of water hazards. Back 9 is still under construction. Great Course for the Money!!

I would definitely play again
This is an average course that gets the job done. Cant wait to play again when they get some things repaired.
Also I dont like paying more online than what I see everyone else paying by not paying online.

Part of the course was under repair
10, 11, and 12 were under repair so the $39 rate was a little excessive given the course conditions.

The course was in really good shape considering how much rain has fallen on the last few days. Pace of play was excellent.

Fun course...needs immediate fairway work!
played on a Friday morning after heavy rain storm...easy course to play...we were the only ones on the course...puddles everywhere...holes 10, 11 & 12 have no fairways...ball water rooster tails on greens

Great Day
Nice round on a beautiful day. The one thing bad was the 4some in front of us thought they were PGA players. Once we went around them THE DAY GOT SO MUCH BETTER! I only wish my game did the same.... Thx Always a fun time at Wendell...

Course needs work big time
They need to take about a year to grow grass on the fairways and slow down the greens... course is very unforgiving and greens are like glass, wouldn’t recommend till they have a playable course

Sneaky course
Great course for the money. Back 9 was kind of janky due to course maintenance but not a big deal at all. Pin placements were gnarly and greens were well kempt. If your short game isn't up to snuff good luck...

This course has potential
It looks like a lot of construction is going on so some fairways are just sand. It’sa good pace of play if you’re a beginner. Wish it had a range to warm up some but I think in a years time it’ll be a better course

Amazing Greens
Although the fairways need attention, the greens were amazing. These greens had very challenging slopes and contours that added to the challenge. The greens were pristine but, be careful, they are very fast.
The Bermuda on most of the fairways here needs attention, but, I believe the folks running the place are in the middle of some major upgrades and redesigning, so give it some time. If the fairways are fixed, this course will be great. It has several fun par threes that will test your iron game.

Dont waste your money
Course conditions are absolutely horrendous. Cart paths are a mess. Fairways are like hitting of gravel. Will not be back
