MetroWest Golf Club
About
This Robert Trent Jones Sr. design is one of the area’s most venerable venues. The fluid beauty of MetroWest provides for a challenging but playable experience. Wide rolling fairways give all levels of players the opportunity to find the short grass, and the four sets of tees working from 7,051 yards down to the 5,325-yard forward tees make hitting greens in regulation a reasonable endeavor. No push over, though, bunkers seem to anchor every corner on every dogleg and elevation changes of up to 100 feet in some circumstances tug back in the course’s favor.

yardage
I have been playing for 60 years and played over a thousand different courses and never has there been no yardage markers of any kind on the course. You could just take the tee box stakes and place them on course. Everything else about course is fine and greens are fast with suttle breaks at the hole. Will be back when you get yardage markers
Fun layout, fairways are thin.
Greens were in very good shape, but fairways and tees were very thin.
Ok Metro! Time to adjust your price
Don’t get me wrong really like the golf course. The layout is very cool and I understand why you increase your rates during the PGA show and the Bayhill invitational, but you are no longer a $70 golf course. Here’s the reason. For some reason you removed all the GPS is from the carts, and there is no yardage markers in the fairways so it’s a guessing game unless you have a rangefinder. Secondly, about 60 to 70% of the tea boxes are sanded garbage right now even off a tea. There’s so much sand under your feet. It’s hard to not slip and at least half the greens have so much Poauna the ball changes directions multiple times very hard to hold a line which is frustrating. Green space should be half of what it is right now no more than 35 bucks.
Great course!
Course is in great shape although a few tee boxes could use some help. As a foursome we finished the round in 3 1/2 hours and the rate was great at $50. They also have new golf carts with GPS soon to be installed.
Could never understand why this course is not busier then it is as they have pretty much everything a golfer could ever want.
Poorly maintained
This course had been trending better and being really taken care of last year. I played here after more than year and was really disappointed.
The tee boxes were mostly sand and dirt with uneven stances. No grass.
Fairways were in poor condition with a lot of weeds and dirt patches.
The greens, which were once in great shape even when the rest of the course was run down is now full of weeds and dirt patches.
Not even close
Layout is awesome. Everything else is abysmal. If you like putting over nothing but weeds, this is your course. It’s legitimately all around awful.
Review
The course layout and wide fairways and conditions were nice. The difficult part was there were no tee diagrams on each hole nor was there a picture on the scorecard of the hole so it made if pretty difficult to figure out where to hit.
Also, the markings to find the next hole were difficult as well, we drove through the tunnels three times because we could not find two particular holes as there were no arrows or signage to tell you where to go, we had to keep asking other golfers that were driving by. Course conditions were good and pace of play was very good as we were a twosome there was a threesome ahead of us which was good.
Not worth the money
Greens were all sanded and it was not even mentioned to us. Tee boxes are in very rough shape along with the rest of the course.
Great staff/Coach is a jerk
95% of the staff were friendly. The ranger, (Coach), was quite moody and unprofessional. Although we understand the importance of keeping everyone on pace of play, the Napolean complex of “Ranger Rick” was appalling to say the least. God-forbid you’re not a PGA player on pace to finish 18 holes in 3.5 hours. Sadly the manager wasn’t very interested in addressing concerns and seemed more intent on becoming defensive himself. Don’t expect too much here folks!
Overpriced
When I booked this course I realized it wasn't a pearl but figured if it was a hot deal for $62, it couldn't be too bad. I may be spoiled but this course was no better than a cheap municipal course. It wasn't worth paying any more than $30 for the round. Tee boxes were marked with colored sticks pounded into the ground, there was not a single yardage marker (not even a yardage plate in the fairway) and the greens ridiculously fast. Putting on the cement floor in my garage is slower. Not a fan and I wouldn't return!
OK for price
Got it for $52. Tee boxes are very spotty with weeds and grass and even sand. Fairways are spotty with grass and bare spots. Greens are extremely fast! Wasn’t bad for the price but I expected the courts to be in better shape.
Great greens
Hadn't played here for years, but the price was good for a midday tee time so thought we would give it a go. So glad we did, the guy in the pro shop was very welcoming. The greens were insanely fast and true. Fairways were well manicured and the semi rough at a level where you could find your ball.
Enjoyable day!
Very nice day! Not crowded. Course is mostly in great condition... just a few rough spots on the greens and tee boxes. Very playable course.
Good rain shortened round
First out on a wet morning. Course was in good shape. Greens were great. Smooth rolls on all. A few worn tee boxes but all else looked good. Enjoyable morning until rain picked up. Would play again,
Nice for the price
Unfortunately, for us, we had made a reservation on Golf now. We did not guarantee the cost. It rained the entire day we were there. Most of the staff was friendly. One was not very friendly at all. Course was decent for the price.
You clearly didn’t play hole 16-18z
