The Omni Grove Park Inn

Was a little wet today but very playable. Greens were a lot of fun.

Course was fun to play! Greens and overall condition of course is below par for the price you pay. Staff could have been attentive in and around the pro shop. Was a fun round and met some really nice people. You should score lower here, it plays short. Hit ‘em straight wherever you decide to play.

My wife and I celebrated our 21st anniversary in Asheville. We spent our first anniversary trip also in Asheville, and I passed up an opportunity to play while my wife enjoyed the spa. I have had several other opportunities and always passes up. Well never again! I will now play every time I’m in Asheville. The layout is amazing! Your short game and putting are crucial, as this is truly the challenging areas of the course. The setting of mountains and Grove Park make every hole a selfie opp. The staff were helpful and courteous.

Very slow pace of play. We were backed up at every hole. The greens were fast and it made you think of every putt. Bring your a game and you will very much enjoy your round.

If you haven’t been to the grove park golf course or inn, you need to go. The course is always in great shape and the resort is awesome! When you are done with your round, the baRd and restaurants are excellent.

P.S. while you are playing, make sure your wife is at their famous spa!! She may let you play again tomorrow!

Fantastic course played it twice. Donald Ross is an evil genius.

I have played Grove Park before and enjoy the layout. They warned me that the greens had been punched and sanded so I anticipated that. However, I did not anticipate how wet the course would be... I had several tee shots that totally disappeared because they plugged in the fairway. Also the tees were saturated as well. Too much water! If the local rainfall does not support bent fairways, go with burmuda! Everyone from the cart guys to the pro staff was very nice it just seems the total golf experience, course conditions, etc have declined . And $75 for punched and sanded greens is too high. Two people that were supposed to play with me were “put off” by the cost given the greens.

Anytime you get a chance to play a Donald Ross course, it is a treat. This is another genius Ross design. Very walkable if you feel up to the elevation changes. The course plays short, even from the back tees, but it defends itself well if you aren’t on your game. I thought the course was very straightforward, and very fair, especially compared to many mountain courses, a testament to Ross’ brilliance. As you would expect at the Grove Park, the views from the golf course are absolutely beautiful. The golf staff was very friendly and the maintenance staff was respectful as they drove around during my round. Even with all this said, and as happy as I am that I was able to play this course, the regular rate is considerably too high. This is not a $150 course, but unfortunately Omni has gotten its hands on what was once one the most beautifully quaint mountain resorts, and has turned it into another mega-resort. It’s a shame. But play it once if you can. And if you’ve got money to burn, play it again.

The greens had just been plugged so obviously they was rough but outside of the course was in great shape. Very friendly and helpful staff. I had a early morning tee time and they allowed me to play by myself, and I was very appreciative of that. Played 18 holes in just under 2.5 hours.

First time playing at The Omni. I will be back. Course in great condition and loved the layout. Greens in great shape as well as the fairways.

A lot of money for NO driving range. Greens speed was inconsistent, Layout of course was excellent as well as the views.

Weather - 67 degrees August 2! Tees, fairways, and greens all just perfect!

If you like classic, straightforward golf, this course is for you. Great greens when I played it. Normal fee is a little high I played with a discount. Reminds me of old private clubs in the northeast.

The layout and course condition are great. Tough track from the blue tees but still an enjoyable round.
