Santa Anita Golf Course

Well, so much for the “lush” fairways of SA.

Wet , tight bare lies, low bounce wedges day.

Fairways were tight and cold and the tee boxes were rough. Greens were slow and bumpy. Too bad people can’t fix their divots. Like they’re so grateful they made it on the green they can’t just fix a divot. Burrito was awesome and the guys are cool. Pop was also very good today.

Nice open layout and well maintained. Play was a little slow.

Slow pace of play. They should not allow groups of five. Otherwise it’s a fun course with friendly staff.

I booked a super twilight round at 4 pm through gn

I arrived at the course early so I asked if they had an earlier time. They said I could go off immediately but at full price l agreed paid my green fee and went to tee off

By the time I reached the sixth hole we were backed up 4 groups. And by thE 8th hole we were backed up 5 groups

I finished 9 and called it a day. A week later I was charged for the super twilight round they said I was a no show

I called the course and was told they would call me back the couldn't find the transaction. Still waiting on the call over a week later. Basically I paid over 90 bucks to play 9 slow holes. Not appreciated all that over 32 bucks smh

It's the principal of the matter I shouldn't be charged for the mistakes of the GC.

Green were terrible, had to really putt very hard. Either greens were punched recently or maintenance was really lacking. Haven’t been here playing for over a year. I guess I’m not coming back anytime soon. Disappointing.

not a lot of watering traps are hard and dry

Decent fairways and tee boxes. By the 6th hole Tere were 4 groups stacked up . Paid full price even though I only played nine holes. I couldn't wait anymore. Pro shop guys were nice and polite but would not discount or rain check the back nine. I never saw marshal all day. A Little disappointed

Hadn’t played here in a long time and regretted it this time. Clearly the course is under some extreme water use restrictions. It is literally dying in front of your eyes. There are completely bare spots everywhere and the ground is rock hard.

The worst aspect is the greens. They were always abysmally slow but they are now shaggy and so bumpy. Every putt is wild ride. So sad for what used to be an enjoyable if quirky municipal course.

I have been playing Santa Anita for years now. It is a nice, fair, but challenging layout that is good for the average golfer. Playing about 6400 from the blues, it is playable ball levels aid golfers. Modest fairways, ample bunking and nice size greens, it allows for low scores. The only drawback on this visit was that they had aerated the greens and they were very fluffy, bumpy and slow. Otherwise, the course was in pretty good condition.
