Santa Anita Golf Course

I know pace is slow on weekends which is why I usually play on Fridays. Knew I had some free time on Sunday so I booked at 11. Pace was slow starting just from the second hole and got worse and worse. It was so bad I left after 9 holes. Not a relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon golfing.

Players are no allowed to take the Carts out to the Parking Lot. NO BAG DROP. Players have to carry their Clubs from the Parking Lot which is full and a long distance from the Starter Location.

Greens actually had a decent amount of speed, and mostly rolled like normal greens, even though they looked weird like they always do. For the past few years they had been horrible, sticky and slow, so this was a pleasant surprise today. Lets hope they can keep this going. Looks like the place is putting in a little more effort into making the place look and play better.

The golf shop has been cleaned up, the restaurant is also being updated. Place is looking much better.

POP was good today, even though I heard them sending out 5somes. So, if you’re planning on playing here, expect some slow days again.

Can’t speak for the bunkers but they all mostly looked playable, raked and maintained.

The course overall has good coverage, but the tee boxes definitely need more work. So many of them are bare and not level.

But I forgive them today for decent greens.

The advertised price on Golf Now was 37 $ to ride. The course charged me 52 $ to ride. The pro shop said that Golf Now was wrong with their quote.

Santa Anita golf course is a great course to play with a friend on an evening. The course offers many par 4’s and a few par 5’s, with the occasional 3 par hole. It is a great course to practice driver since the course fairways are wide and have many room to rip the ball. I would recommend to a friend and will be playing again soon.

They book way too many people and the pace of play is ridiculously slow. Never again.

The young man was so rude and no manors., even we admit we made mistakes to cut the so so slow group in front us, try to faster the pace since they over booked too many golfers
