Father’s Day round
My sons and I played yesterday. It has been several years since I last played here but I will put this course in my regular rotation. Everyone from Adam at the clubhouse to the starter and “Bill” the greens keeper were really helpful and pleasant to talk to. The greens are in unbelievable shape, fairways great. The traps look to be getting rebuilds but are still in pretty good shape. We love this course.
Pleasantly surprised
First time playing but will be back. Course was in really good shape especially for as dry as it has been. Greens are tough and undulating. Course has a few rough areas but overall very playable. Best of the parks and rec courses I’ve played. Was a long round but expected on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend
The Golf Shop Chump
I made reservations for 3 and two days before our reservation I found out I had to work. My buddies got someone to take my place but bc I’m the one that made the reservation and I didn’t show up. The Golf Shop Chump still contacted GolfNow to say I was a no show so I got charged a round of golf.
I don’t know what the course is like, but I won’t be going back for that reason unless I get refunded.
Much improved, nice greens
The course is in the best condition it has been in for a while. Granted, it is not a top tier course around the area, but one I will continue to play it when its not busy..
The layout has always been great, and ever since they renovated, the greens are in very nice shape and 90% of the tee boxes are level and lush.
Lacking would be the sand traps and some rough areas.
Replay rate is too high
Greens are nice at course since they replaced them. Overall course conditions were the best I’ve ever seen them, since I started playing there occasionally about 10 years ago. Bunkers were in good shape. I would normally take them off of my rotation during the hot months, because they always struggled with therir greens.
We were going to replay 9 and the rate was 25.00, we only played 40 to play 18 to start with. They informed me the replay rate was the same as the walker rate? Most courses we play only charge you cart fee and it’s pro rated on whether you’re re-playing 9 or 18 holes. This has beeen their policy for a while because it has happened to me before. Course not worth 65.00 for 27 holes . They are moving in the right direction with the course conditions , but won’t play there again if I’m going to play more than 18 because of the re-play rate.
Terrible Conditions - Overpriced
The condition of the greens, fairways and tee boxes on the front nine was the worst I've seen at this course. The worst part is they made no mention of the terrible conditions and charged us full price for the round. Many of the greens were unplayable. The back nine was in better shape, but our experience was already ruined after the front nine. If they charged $15 or $20 per round, I *might* play here again. I won't be back for a while.

I want to give the course 4 stars because the staff has done a great job maintaining the turf and not letting the greens get burnt out. I have to give it 3 though because some of the greens are half bermuda half bent and the tee boxes are still sloped. There are still some bare spots in the fairways, and #6 has a drainage problem in the fairway. This course has really improved in the past few years, so if it's been a while give them another try, but don't expect perfect conditions.
Always surprised by this place. Course was in great shape, fairways and greens in good condition. I can remember one hole (par 4, water all the way down the right hand side) where the fairway was in not great shape, but that's it. For <$45 on a weekday morning, all you can ask for. Clubhouse is a little dated, but only in there for a few minutes. Course is way better than I expect/hope for.
Above and Beyond
First let me begin by saying how great the greens rolled, phenomenal truly one of the best public courses in the area. There's a great practice area three Par 3 holes 60-90 yards. In addition the staff is very friendly and professional. Actually on this particular day as we made the turn staff members (James and Reina) were assisting a golfer who was suffering from heat exhaustion,. James who I later found out is a retired Marine CSM carried the individual into the clubhouse and began to administer first aid and monitored him until paramedics arrival.. Above and beyond, kudos Team Ratcliffe....Golfers remember to drink plenty of water, if you have a chance to play Charles T please treat yourself and go low.

Charles T. Myers Golf Course
This was my first time playing CTM in just under 2 years. I played early on Sunday morning in hopes of getting done before the extreme heat took effect. The pro shop, starter, and snack bar staff were all very friendly and helpful. There were several coolers stationed throughout the course, which was a bonus on a day like this. I didn't use the driving range. The putting green was full of unrepaired ball marks, which seemed kind of odd. There is enough room around the clubhouse for CTM to cut a 2nd green for chipping or pitching, and maybe some thought should be given to that based on the condition of the putting green. If you could find a putt that didn't have to traverse a ball mark, it actually rolled pretty true. The course was in pretty decent shape. As with most Charlotte area courses, the Bermuda is pretty thick and there was plenty of grass on the course, save for various bare or thin spots that randomly appeared in some fairways. The greens were the same, pretty good with a thin spot here or there. They were medium speed, about what you'd expect from a Ratcliffe course. Unrepaired ball marks were a constant issue, but again, if you got a putt where you didn't have to navigate any of those, the greens rolled pretty true. The one exception is the 8th green, which it seems they are on the verge of losing. The rough is very playable. Teeboxes were all in good shape.
The layout at CTM is one of the more unique ones in the Charlotte area. It sits on top of an old landfill, so there aren't many trees on the course. It plays as 'linksy' as any course in Charlotte area. The course defends itself with large bunkers around most of the greens. You can score pretty well around CTM if your tee to green game is fairly sharp, as evidenced by my 2 birdies and 28 putts, both bests for me in quite some time.
Great value
This course came up with in my search radius and I wanted to try it. Definitely worth the money. Greens rolled well, I will be playing this course more than once a month.
MOSTLY WIDE OPEN - FAIRLY WELL KEPT COURSE
On a beautiful mid 70's day I played this course and felt it was in overall fairly good condition. Putting was different (temporary) as sand was recently added to the greens. I enjoyed playing at Charles T Myers much more than the overgrown rough negative experience which was present recently at Renaissance.
Fun Course, needs a little help
What I really liked about this course is that it was fun to play. For being a "flat" course it has a decent bit of elevation changes that are fun. I was only able to play the front 9 (twice to make my round 18) because they were airating the back 9. They said they were under construction to get an under ground self watering system, which would be great because their fairways are very dry and patchy. Their greens a rolling, but they need severe attention as they are very dry and damaged. (Lots of holes, and bumpy as a mogul course) overall it was still a fun round with some challenging pin locations, but definitely a course to play for a nice round of golf.
Nice Public course
Ok course to practice your short game doing the week.
Course Needs Attention
This was my third time playing this course. The first time the course conditions were terrible, the second time decent, and this time there was no excuse. A decent tee shot on a par 3 just 5 feet off the green should not end up an inch deep in mud when there was no recent rain. The drainage and the mowing are terrible. Likely this will be my last time at this course because it is very frustrating to have good shots turn into high scores because the course is not in passable condition. The greens were also very inconsistent. One hole would have super slow greens and the next would be super fast. Either is okay as long as it is relatively consistent. If you are looking to play for cheap this is fine, but you get what you pay for.
