Bad
Only reason to play this course is because everything else is booked. Would recommend sitting home instead. 30 bucks for a six pack of white claws. It’s always over booked, no marshal helping with pace of play anywhere to be found. Tee boxes, rough, fairways and greens are all super overgrown. Just a really bad and overpriced course. New management is doing a terrible job. They need to shut down for a half a year and address the abysmal course conditions for any chance at becoming decent again.
Quality lacking
For this to be one of the most expensive municipal courses in Charlotte it sure does not add up to that. Greens have serious bald patches, fairways have bald spots and some time grass is not cut so it feels like you are in the rough. Rocks in the sand and when it rains they are unplayable. Literally this place under new management has fallen off as once a gem. To me it’s just sad because they have new carts.
Horrible experience, Save your money
Arrived as a single player, called the day before to make sure it was fine to bring my small dog as long as I had him on a leash on the cart and they approved. Immediately when I walked in to play, the superintendent came and started making smart remarks about me being my dog. I book a tee time and they said they were 15 mins behind, which is fine but I ended up waiting 40 mins to start. While i waited i decided to grab a small cooler off the back of my truck because it was 95 and 90% humidity, the boss once again came out and said i was not allowed to carry a cooler. So i bought a few waters which ended up getting hot after 3 holes. Once i reached hole 5 I saw a water cooler to refill the bottles, but it was empty.
As far as the course conditions go, the greens had 6 weeks worth of old holes still showing and affecting putts, horrible cart paths, and washed out fairways. Save your money go somewhere else.
Love Charles
Great course! Course layout and yardages are very beginner friendly, some of the greens are a little tricky for beginners though. The staff have always been great with me and the pace of play has always been around 4 - 4:30 hrs except for 1 time. Overall one of my favorite courses being fairly new to golf, definitely recommend!
Ehhhhh.
Stay away because there are so many nice courses in the area. Course was in bad shape, pace was slow and it was extremely hot. But it was cheap. you get what you pay for...I will never go back. Staff are extremely nice too.
Greens are dying - don't waste your money
Played CT Myers GC on Thursday June 27th. On the first couple of greens we noticed that there were some problems with greens. There were brown areas and bare places where the grass was gone. Then we discovered that every green on the course had issues, with some worse than others. We were thinking that there was some kind of pest infestation or fungus killing the greens. After the round we quizzed an employee in the clubhouse about what was going on with the greens. She told us that the irrigation system was broken and that the greens hadn't been watered. It is sheer incompetence to let your greens die from lack of water when there is plenty of water available. If you have to, get a water wagon and manually water the greens, one at a time, but you don't let the greens die. These greens were in good shape in late May.
911 for the greens
Fun course but no fun on bumpy greens. It's like nobody wants to fix their ball marks.
Pace of Play was bad
Hole #7 got really stacked up. Had to wait 30 minutes for 4 groups to tee off before it was our turn. Long waits at other holes as well. Left after 14 holes due to the wait times.
Maintenance Fell off a Cliff
This used to be a go to spot for budget rounds back in ‘22. Flooded greens, ground under repair, and lack of maintenance has turned this place for the worst. I won’t be back.
It’s decent
Overall the course is alright. The fairways are probably the best part about the course. The greens are pretty patchy and the drainage is poor on the greens and other places as well. I do like the course design, there are some challenging spots, but also some fairways that are pretty wide open. If you play on the weekends there’s a Marshall who drives around and offers you water which is pretty awesome considering how hot it is in the summer. Everyone is super nice here which is a plus. I believe I paid 57$ for 18 which isn’t bad but I feel like it’s a little much for this course. I know for a fact I’ll be playing here again despite having other options that are just as good or better for the price.
