About
Neuse Golf Club was ranked as one of the best public golf courses in North Carolina, second only to Pinehurst. The layout winds along the Neuse River across rolling hills that are dotted with rocky outcroppings. Towering, mature pines accent the landscape as well, especially along the fairways. Each hole provides a dramatically different challenge and unique scenery. Views of the winding river can be enjoyed on almost every hole. A variety of bunkers and doglegs are strategically placed throughout the golf course, demanding both accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The design closely follows the natural contours of the hilly terrain. Dramatic elevation changes guarantee that flat lies will be hard to find. The golf course is no easy feat but the beautiful scenery and interesting hole designs will appeal to any player.

Amazing layout and one of the most beautiful courses I’ve ever played!! Hope to return here one day!
Great test of skill
Great greens, very solid track, I enjoy playing it 3 or 4 times a year, and would play it more often if I lived closer. Some green/tee complexes are hard to get to for Senior golfers, but a great way to get steps in, even if riding.

Fun course
I always enjoy the Neuse. It is a good layout with a nice mix of holes and it is generally in good shape.

Consistently Great Value
As a relatively new NC resident, I have tried many courses within an hour of downtown Raleigh, where I reside. I love The Neuse for it's quiet location, the fairness of all 18 holes [well, maybe except for 13 & 14 (wink)]. But everything is great from the time you check in to the 19th hole. If I lived closer, I'd be a Member, as this is a course the will never bore you.

Challenging and a great value
I had heard great things about this course after playing a few other local courses earlier in the week.
It did not disappoint and it was a fantastic track. The greens were quick. The fairways were wide enough that you could stay out of trouble if you hit in the right spot. If you hit it in the wrong spot though, there was enough slope to the fairways that your ball could easily find the rough. Everything was very well maintained and each hole was "pretty".
I teed off at 2:30 p.m. and didn't see a single person on the course. You can't beat that. I kept expecting to run into groups, but that never happened and it allowed me to just relax and take my time on this gem.
I don't have one complaint about the Neuse and will definitely be back when I'm in this area again. As a NY'er playing in NC, I was really surprised that this course was only $39. I guess there's a lot of competition in the area and some courses need to offer lower prices to compete. Well that works for me. I would play this course regularly if I lived in the area. If GolfPass allowed me to give a 4.5 score, that's what I'd give The Neuse. But, since I'm stuck with either 4 or 5 stars, I went with 4.

Spring Golf 2022
We have played the Neuse once yearly for the past three years. The course is always in good shape, and the greens are always excellent. Some of the pin placements can be a bit unfair, especially when the green speeds are up, which they usually are. Definitely recommend playing here, well worth the cost. The staff is also super friendly.

Got stuck behind a 5-some
We knew teeing off at 3:50 it would be close to dark when we finished, even as a 2-some. But then on hole 14 we ran into a 5-some! of members that was completely oblivious. Even with nobody in front of them, and often times we were waiting on the same tee box while they teed off, they would not let us play through. It was awful, never seen anything like it on the course.

A real great track
Every hole is a treat no flat lies real big greens my only complaint was the cart gps system was not working properly and there’s lots of blind tee shots sometimes hard to see group in front
