About
Neuse Golf Club was ranked as one of the best public golf courses in North Carolina, second only to Pinehurst. The layout winds along the Neuse River across rolling hills that are dotted with rocky outcroppings. Towering, mature pines accent the landscape as well, especially along the fairways. Each hole provides a dramatically different challenge and unique scenery. Views of the winding river can be enjoyed on almost every hole. A variety of bunkers and doglegs are strategically placed throughout the golf course, demanding both accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The design closely follows the natural contours of the hilly terrain. Dramatic elevation changes guarantee that flat lies will be hard to find. The golf course is no easy feat but the beautiful scenery and interesting hole designs will appeal to any player.

I've always loved this course
This course has never disappointed me. It was a bummer that it was cart=path=only due to the rain from the previous day, but the course was still a gem. Looking forward to getting more rounds in this season.

Fix The Traps!
Love the course, played it a bunch the past two years. Great layout, greens were in nice condition and rolling fast. BUT--if you're going to charge top dollar on the weekends, put some white sand in the traps. Literally no excuse for this. It's fine you spent money on re-doing the pro shop, new carts, and GPS but most everyone has that on their phones already. Nobody wants to try to hit out of dirt/gravel pits on a course as good as the Neuse. Buy some sand!

great course layout, lots of elevation. cut through a neighborhood is the only negative.

Best Kept Secret
New to North Carolina within past 13 months. Have played all courses of this caliber within 40 miles of downtown Raleigh.
Conditions (considering early spring) were good. Greens still "as receptive as ever", but not much (as many other local greens are). The undulations on some are a challenge, like #18 green where even if you hit the ball to the green pin high to the left of the back hole pin placement), you now have a dip that must be navigated for a 30' birdee putt.
The golf carts have excellent yardage GPS.
Food and Bar make for a nice 19th Hole.

Love this place
This is my favorite course in the greater Raleigh area. Has a bunch of blind holes, elevation and nice long par 3s. A lot of long open fairways. Slow Monday so I was able to play by myself. Seemed like mostly singles today, which was nice for a change. The last couple times I have played was fairly busy but moved a long nicely. Can’t wait for the fairways to get color back.

Great course
Wonderful course greens were fast an receptive fairways and tee box’s good for season
Bunkers need som TLC but played with some
Members that said the owner is working hard on them
Starter gave me some trouble about going 3 minutes early but the members we played with told him to bug off and stood up for us!

Nice Course - in pretty good shape
Other than being stuck behind 3 foursomes that played like it was their last round….pretty good.

Tough Greens
You have to play this a few times to understand the greens. Grass is still dormant.

6-some
I’ve played here many times. The course, especially the greens are in good shape.
Our round was progressing normally. When we got to the 9th tee there was a 6-some on the tee. We figured they might let us play through at the turn. However they laughingly said they were playing on. When I talked with the staff in the clubhouse she didn’t seem to care and offered to give me the pro’s phone number so I could call him which I declined since she should have.
So apparently, the members can do what they want. Therefore I will not go back and spend my money there anymore.
