About
Neuse Golf Club was ranked as one of the best public golf courses in North Carolina, second only to Pinehurst. The layout winds along the Neuse River across rolling hills that are dotted with rocky outcroppings. Towering, mature pines accent the landscape as well, especially along the fairways. Each hole provides a dramatically different challenge and unique scenery. Views of the winding river can be enjoyed on almost every hole. A variety of bunkers and doglegs are strategically placed throughout the golf course, demanding both accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The design closely follows the natural contours of the hilly terrain. Dramatic elevation changes guarantee that flat lies will be hard to find. The golf course is no easy feat but the beautiful scenery and interesting hole designs will appeal to any player.

Greens were aerated
Greens were aerated 2 weeks ago according to the ranger but they were still fairly bumpy. I would wait a while before playing here again for full price. They should be ashamed to charge full price when greens are this bad
Great shape!
The Neuse has done quite a bit over the years to improve their greens, course conditions and overall deliver a country club experience. I don’t think you can possibly go wrong with playing this course. It’s rather challenging and overall a great game of golf.

Greens were horrible
Aeration appeared to be recent. greens were bumpy and extremely slow

Poor greens
The fairways and ruff are in excellent shape however the greens are in terrible shape, they recently aerated and they don’t have enough sand on them so it’s very very bumpy. Bunkers are also in great shape. Unfortunately there was a tournament today when I played so it was very very slow.

Excellent Condition
Great course and greens were in phenomenal conditions. For the cost compared to other courses in the the area, you can get a more than fair deal. Only downside, as with almost all local courses, is no chipping practice area. Wish someone would start offering a nice one because I would be there all the time.

Best course conditions of any course in the Triangle
I have played the Neuse many times before its always in great shape. But. This time it was in the best shape of all time. Amazing job with the conditions. Most courses ive been playing have not faired well with the recent heat. But the Neuse is not fazed by it. If you havent played it in awhile you need to go

Upgrades
The course is under new ownership who are making much needed repairs. Everything is going great from what I saw. The course was well groomed and the clubhouse is being renovated. This may seem like a small thing but the bathrooms out on the course are in great shape, not Porto potties. Too many bunkers, I think I found them all. Might be me!

Staff
I arrived early thinking my tee time was 12:50. It was 1:50. Course was very busy with girls tournament. Gentlemen at pro shop was awesome. Many parents were using carts to watch their kids He kept everyone informed of the situation and they got carts cleaned and out to those waiting as quick as possible. Started on time and pace of play was very good, only slowing down around hole 14. Congrats to staff

I love the neuse golf club. One of my favorite places to play. Pace very bad today on the back nine but due to outing. normally good pace. I like the layout and the conditions are usually very good.
