About
Neuse Golf Club was ranked as one of the best public golf courses in North Carolina, second only to Pinehurst. The layout winds along the Neuse River across rolling hills that are dotted with rocky outcroppings. Towering, mature pines accent the landscape as well, especially along the fairways. Each hole provides a dramatically different challenge and unique scenery. Views of the winding river can be enjoyed on almost every hole. A variety of bunkers and doglegs are strategically placed throughout the golf course, demanding both accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The design closely follows the natural contours of the hilly terrain. Dramatic elevation changes guarantee that flat lies will be hard to find. The golf course is no easy feat but the beautiful scenery and interesting hole designs will appeal to any player.

Golfers Paradise
Placed about 30 mins outside of Raleigh this course is well worth the short drive... conditions were above average for this time of year ... pace of play was great... staff was very friendly and were wearing mask in accordance with CDC guidelines. Had lunch after our round and the food was delicious. Firm fast greens and a challenging layout made for an enjoyable round. Money well spent and I will be returning in the near future!
Nice course, but was sooo slowwww!!
Havent played here in a couple years but loved the place so made the trip back. Had a 10:30 tee time and we didnt finish till 3:30. A 5 hour round on Thursday! Was just me and a friend. No marshall to regulate pace of play. A slow older 3 some wouldnt let no one through. The front 9 was about 2 hours but the back was 3 hours. I still loved the course. It wasnt manicured like i use to see it but the fair ways were nice and greens rolled good and were slick. Played my best round there though and shot 81 and my buddy shot 83. We both had good fronts but the back was so frustrating and couldnt get in any type of rhythm. I stay in Fayetteviille so its an hour 10 min ride for me. Wont be coming back anytime soon but definitely will return sometime. So hopefully the pace will be better. Still reccomend the course for people nearby but not gonna drive up there anytime soon.

Great place to place
It had rained quite a bit overnight. New it would be wet. Cart path only - and that was absolutely necessary. Will play again.

Nice Layout
I’ve always liked playing the Neuse. Played after a rain and this place can get muddy. Nobody had cleaned up the tee boxes.

Baltimore County crew
We have played the Neuse course every spring for the past 3 years. The greens were still in good shape, but the conditions have definitely gone down. The staff is still very nice and treat you nice. Not sure if we will come back next year? The value was usually worth the trip.

Cold and Challenging
Unfortunately for uswe went on a day that was cold and windy which happened in the middle of a warming trend. Some of the course was spongy because it had rained a couple days before. The layout was very nice but it was definiely challenging as I am not a golfer who gets out weekly. Overall, I was out with family and friends and I enjoyed it despite the weather.

Soggy Weather
No one in clubhouse had masks on, normally the course plays well but because of the rain it was really soggy. The green was good considering everything. pace of play was a little slow. Only play 9 of 18 because of wet conditions and pace of play
