The Neuse Golf Club
About
Neuse Golf Club was ranked as one of the best public golf courses in North Carolina, second only to Pinehurst. The layout winds along the Neuse River across rolling hills that are dotted with rocky outcroppings. Towering, mature pines accent the landscape as well, especially along the fairways. Each hole provides a dramatically different challenge and unique scenery. Views of the winding river can be enjoyed on almost every hole. A variety of bunkers and doglegs are strategically placed throughout the golf course, demanding both accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The design closely follows the natural contours of the hilly terrain. Dramatic elevation changes guarantee that flat lies will be hard to find. The golf course is no easy feat but the beautiful scenery and interesting hole designs will appeal to any player.

Best course in Raelgh
By far the best golf course I have played. The fairways and greens are in excellent condition. The layout is very convenient and it is easy to find the next hole.
Tough but terrific
Expected a longgggg day but got around in 3 1/2 hrs! A first!
Greens are rolling great, fairways are a couple of weeks from being perfect and playing from the blues is a challenging (but fair) test of skill. Love this course and if were closer to north Raleigh I’d play it weekly.
Dickie70
The course is in great shape. Played with two guys one who lives on the course the other from. Kansas City Mo. Had a good day and will back soon.
Good greens and fun course
Good value. The greens were very good and fun to putt!
Neuse
Great course in really good shape considering the deluge the day before. Cart path only but really could have driven on most fairways. Great drainage!
Greens are always great condition and very true.
Nice course
Nice course. Liked the layout. A bit disappointed with the foursome in front. Didn’t play ready. Maybe the tee times could have been better kept. But we will play again..
Beautiful Course!
My buddies and I had to drive an average of an hour each way to play this course but it was well worth it! We loved the layout, the pace of play, the friendliness of staff and other golfers were great. The greens were almost as perfect as they could be, balls impacting them didn't leave divots and the roll was true. The greens were on the slow side but I could really learn to love that. There were some challenging but fair layouts, My buddies and I play different courses all across the area and do not have a home course however we all agreed we would join this course were it on the west side of Raleigh and not the east. All four of us were impressed with our outing. I gave course condition a Good but that was because of the time of year; this course will easily be an excellent in two weeks.
Redundant
Fairways greening up and the greens were f’n perfect as usual
Great value and great course
I've played the Neuse many times in the past, and although it's a 45 minute drive and I enjoy playing a variety of courses, I come back often because of the value and course conditions (which I marked "good" this time simply because the course is coming back from very rainy conditions in the last few weeks). This is definitely not a $28 experience. That's what I paid, but I'd value it as a $50 experience, even this time of year. The greens are bermuda, and they are very fast and roll very true. Other than the wet/soft spots in the pooling areas that are still drying up, the fairways are fairly lush for the last day of winter, and the cart rule was 90 degrees. Tee boxes are in pretty good shape on most holes, but there were a few tee markers set up on some distinct hills that either shouldn't be used, or better yet, should be flattened out a little. There were also about three tees where the markers were drastically skewed, pointing toward the houses or trees (which I fixed myself, so if you played after me, you're welcome). Rough is thin this time of year, but playable. The clubhouse is well-maintained, and the staff is very friendly, including offering a discounted replay ($20 instead of $25) which I took advantage of. Pace of play was very good, especially as a single. I played both rounds (with cart) at 2 hrs 30 mins, and the few groups that I ran into allowed me to play through. If you haven't played here, you're definitely missing out.
Snack Bar
One of my favorite courses to play, Fairways were wet but that was to be expected, Greens in perfect condition as always. At the turn, we like to pick up a few beers. Took the cooler from the cart in and ordered 6 Bud Lites and used the rest room while the order was being filled. $22.50 for 6 beers??????? Lady said management raised the prices. .Freaking' ridiculous. This will definitely deter future play at this course or will have to break the rules and bring our own.
Are you kidding?????
The course was in good condition considering all the rain we have had lately. the greens were as always in great shape. We made the turn and we like to have a few beers on the back nine. $22.75 for 6 Bud Lights!!!!! Are you flippin' kidding me? I have been a regular player at here but no longer.
Good layout..very wet
Good layout on course but conditions are horrible right now. As are most courses in the area but I wouldn’t suggest play for the next week or so
