Worth the drive from OBX
There really isn't any way around it. It's a significant drive from the OBX to Carolina Club. But considering it's less than 10 miles past Kilmarlic and Pointe, we found the value to be worth the drive.
Best thing about Carolina Club is the greens, which were rolling very true. It probably has 8 or 9 good golf holes as well. Nice thing about the course is the fairways are big enough that a high handicapper like my brother could enjoy his round, but there are enough hazards and bunkers to keep a low handicapper like me challenged. Makes for a good family outing course during a week at the beach.
A really nice course
the course is a bit out of the way if you are coming from the Outer Banks, but the 50 minute drive is worth it. We played a day after torreantial rains, but the course drained well. Even with cart paths only, our two finished in 3 1/2 hours. But for one hole, the course was interesting and fun to play. the greens ran fast and were in great shape even aftet the raim. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Harder than it looks, excellent condition
One of the best courses in the area - can be tough if off the fairway.
Great course, fair but challenging
Gives golfers options to play variety of courses depending on blocks played. Challenging setup, good greens.
Nice course - bring your "Wind Game" though!!
There are some very imaginative holes on this course. A few holes put you into a situation where you have a few options depending on the wind. A great challenge.
carolina club
Super soft greens with great action. Fairways were in great shape as well. We play this course every year on vacation and it never disappoints!!
Great course
Great layout, really fast and true greens. Our favorite course at the outer banks.
A very pleasurable, quality experience I want to experience again.
Finest greens in the area in my opinion. The layout of the holes combined scenic views, challenging hole design, lenght and pristine conditions for very early spring. The staff is more that helpful and express that they are very pleased you chose to play their course. I will be back and do recommend all golfers experience what the Carolina Club has to offer..
Very playable and not full of gimmicks
I have played this course a few times over the years, and have liked the way it has matured. It is a straight-forward type of course with very few bad things, but not a lot of memorable things either, making it enjoyable for a nice round. I played it on a cold, windy March day, and the course still had the brown, dormant Bermuda grass, so it was hard to follow and find the golf balls sometimes, so it is better played when things get greener later in the year. The recently-opened grille served up a great burger, and the staff is friendly without being phony. Overall, a good course, not too hard, and worth playing.
Staff was super friendly and the course was very playable for so early in the season
Great course and a great value. I will play this course again later in the season when everything is green. The staff at the course was great!!
Pretty course: in great shape with some interesting holes. Great staff.
Best value for golf course in the OBX. Course in great condition .... started in particular was very friendly and helpful.
Good course, but costs too much.
Everything about the course and the staff was great. The starter was friendly, and the pace of play was decent. The only negative comment I have is the price. $99 is just too much to pay for an OK public course.
Great course! Great time!!
What a wonderful experience playing golf on the Outer Banks. I have played most of the other courses inthe area and the Carolina Club, in my opinion, is simply the best. The course was in great conditions. The people were friendly from the person who took my bag to the rangers on the course. There were plenty of challenging holes for the more advanced golfers but it was also playable for the average golfer. I would highly recommend this course if you are vacationing in the OBX!!
